The Promise
Robert Sexton

"Across the years I will walk with you-
in deep green forests; on shores of sand;
and when our time on earth is through,
in Heaven, too, you will have my hand."

Those We Love Don't Go Away,
They Walk Beside Us Every Day,
Unseen, Unheard, But Always Near,
Still Loved, Still Missed And Very Dear.

They continue to live in our hearts, in our memories, in Heaven.

Native American Prayer
Author: Unknown

I give you this one thought to keep -
I am with you still - I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush,
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone -
I am with you still in each new dawn.

I am a child of God,
And he has sent me here,
Has given me an earthly home
With parents kind and dear.

I am a child of God,
And so my needs are great;
Help me to understand his words
Before it grows to late.

I am a child of God.
Rich blessings are in store;
If I but learn to do his will
I'll live with him once more.

Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,
Help me find the way.
Teach me all that I must do
To live with him someday.

Old folks are worth a fortune:
With silver in their hair, gold in their teeth, stones in their kidneys, lead in their feet and gas in their stomachs.

I have become a lot more social with the passing of the years; some might even call me a frivolous old gal. I'm seeing five gentlemen every day.

As soon as I wake, Will Power helps me get out of bed. Then I go see John. Then Charley Horse comes along, and when he is here, he takes a lot of my time and attention. When he leaves, Arthur Ritis shows up and stays the rest of the day. (He doesn't like to stay in one place very long, so he takes me from joint to joint.) After such a busy day, I'm really tired and glad to go to bed - with Ben Gay. What a life!

P.S. The preacher came to call the other day. He said that at my age, I should be thinking about the hereafter. I told him I do - all the time. No matter where I am - in the parlor, upstairs in the kitchen or down in the basement - I ask myself, "Now, what am I here after?"

Hi JC,

I know we have written back and forth, but I don't know if you are related. I do know that you have taken many photos of my family headstones(Sharp, Hanker etc). I just wanted to thank you for all that you do to make it a little easier for me to find info.

RE: Re: Photo for Sara DeLoof
I was curious about that as well! I wondered if "Sea" was Dutch for Sara? Anyway, I've added the photos for "Sea" and also added another for Sara (a photo of the top of the stone barely showing the word "mother")

Hi JC., Well I just got done looking through all of my old photos and I don't have that one still.

But, will be no problem to go out and retake them.
The difficulty I had with that marker is it is so big, the angle of the sun, and the time of day too. All made for a challenging photo take. Made worse by the appearance of the stone itself.
I know right where it is, hopefully I will have it for you by the end of this week. Sue
