The Promise
Robert Sexton

"Across the years I will walk with you-
in deep green forests; on shores of sand;
and when our time on earth is through,
in Heaven, too, you will have my hand."

---------------------------------------

Those We Love Don't Go Away,
They Walk Beside Us Every Day,
Unseen, Unheard, But Always Near,
Still Loved, Still Missed And Very Dear.

---------------------------------------

They continue to live in our hearts, in our memories, in Heaven.

---------------------------------------

Native American Prayer
Author: Unknown

I give you this one thought to keep -
I am with you still - I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush,
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone -
I am with you still in each new dawn.

---------------------------------------

I am a child of God,
And he has sent me here,
Has given me an earthly home
With parents kind and dear.

I am a child of God,
And so my needs are great;
Help me to understand his words
Before it grows to late.

I am a child of God.
Rich blessings are in store;
If I but learn to do his will
I'll live with him once more.

Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,
Help me find the way.
Teach me all that I must do
To live with him someday.

OLD FOLKS ARE WORTH A FORTUNE

Old folks are worth a fortune:
With silver in their hair, gold in their teeth, stones in their kidneys, lead in their feet and gas in their stomachs.

I have become a lot more social with the passing of the years; some might even call me a frivolous old gal. I'm seeing five gentlemen every day.

As soon as I wake, Will Power helps me get out of bed. Then I go see John. Then Charley Horse comes along, and when he is here, he takes a lot of my time and attention. When he leaves, Arthur Ritis shows up and stays the rest of the day. (He doesn't like to stay in one place very long, so he takes me from joint to joint.) After such a busy day, I'm really tired and glad to go to bed - with Ben Gay. What a life!

P.S. The preacher came to call the other day. He said that at my age, I should be thinking about the hereafter. I told him I do - all the time. No matter where I am - in the parlor, upstairs in the kitchen or down in the basement - I ask myself, "Now, what am I here after?"

--------------------------------------

Those we love leave us with gifts that no one can take away. They gave us wisdom, friendship, advice, comfort when we needed it, and memories of their laughter and smile. These are gifts of love that are ours to keep.

--------------------------------------
I'd like the memory of me
To be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow
Of smiles
When life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering
Softly down the ways.
Of happy times and laughing times
And bright sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
To dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave
When life is done.

"Find a Grave's mission is to find, record and present final disposition information from around the world as a virtual cemetery experience.

Memorial contributions to Find A Grave must fulfill that mission - registration of the final disposition. If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the main mission, then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.

Location of body unknown must be used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition must be determined and updated within 30 days."

Perry's from Calvary Cemetery
Thank you the photos of the headstones of Frank Perry and Raymond Francis Perry, they were both ancestors of Steve Perry (from Journey) and that me and him are both Azorean Portuguese Americans. I know I did not exist in the 70s and 80s, but I also like classic rock as well as rock, hip hop, and pop.

Thanks for the biographical sketch. I added it to Find A Grave. I am not related but there is a distant and indirect family connection.

Raymond & Viola Mills photo requests
Unlike the Bane family which you did earlier for me, the Mills are actually related to me, through my wife's father. I'm not sure what went wrong with Find A Grave's computer program on this. It obviously didn't record the posted photos as fulfilling the request although they registered as grave photos. Did you happen to have a "claim" on the request at the time the other person uploaded them? I think that will keep the program from giving them credit, although it will still let them upload their photos.

In any event, I really appreciate your efforts on these, and if you have photos of these graves, feel free to upload them anyway, since there likely isn't going to be a problem with the 5 photo maximum.

Thanks again!

RE: Monkey Bane
Thanks for the info!

As I wrote in an earlier message to Diana, I am not related to the Bane family; I was mainly trying to track down Harvey's sister Anna (Bane) Wood and her husband Robert W. Wood, who are related to a good friend of mine. They are in the census in Clark Co., MO from 1910 - 1940, but they disappear after that.

I am not able to view the family tree at Ancestry without signing up with them (which I really don't want to do). I did not come up with anything elsewhere using the name Albert Ross Bane either. Just as an aside, is it better to be called "Monkey" Bane or "Albatross" Bane? ;-)

Thanks again, and have a Merry Christmas!

RE: Rev. Harvey Bane grave photos
I found an obit for him here: http://www.recordnet.com/article/20000705/A_NEWS21/307059999

It does not mention burial, but it does give the name of the Funeral Home.

Thanks again!

Juan Contreras
Thank you very much for the additional information for Juan, which I have added to his memorial.

Do you know which county Juan died in? If so, I can add that to his memorial as well.

Thanks again!

RE: James M. Harris
Hi JC: Is there anyway we can converse off this site, can you email me? I do have everything you sent, there is an E.P. Harris listed at the site below that matches one of the Harris brothers in my research, giving J.M. Harris as his father.

Thank You! Ken
