John James Armstrong was born in Amarillo, Potter County, TX, the son of David Clinton and Anna Marie (Goranson) Armstrong. He was reared on the family farm out from Panhandle, Carson County, TX. John graduated from Panhandle High School and The University of Texas at Austin with a BS degree in Pharmacy. He resided in MD and AL as a pharmacist for the U.S. Public Health Service. He resigned his commission and returned to Greenville, TX, where for a year he pursued a MS degree in computer science becoming a graduate school dropout. He continued his pharmacist career with McGaughey, Revco, Eckerd, and Super 1 Foods & Discount Pharmacy|
His genealogy interest was inspired by an aunt, Gladys Mae Armstrong (1900-1991), in the late 1970's. From there the interest has grown more into assisting others in their research where he can rather than doing research on his family. His particular interest is in newspaper indexation as shown in a way with the Website address. The photo is from a few years back... To God be the Glory, Great Things He Has Done!

Thank you very much.
|j*||My Grandmother - Juanita Lois Ward Smith Bell Rowe|
I just wanted to send, at the very least, an electronic hug, if nothing else, for the information you shared with me! It has opened up so much information, I cannot even TELL you how THANKFUL I am!!
I met a distant cousin, because of your information, whom I've been corresponding with...and, he's been kind enough to share photographs he and his father have of my great-great grandparents and my great grandfather, Elijah Lafayette (Fate) Ward - listed in memorials, here, as Elija Lafitte (Fete) Ward...
I don't know why it's important to one's mentality to actual see that you resemble someone. I feel that I resemble my biological Mother...who, I had assumed, more resembled her father - until I saw the picture of Fate and Carrie. My face looks a lot like Fate's, I think - with Carrie's ears! My biological Granny looked exactly like her Daddy, James Oliver (Barney) Ward - very dark hair and eyes - the sweetest disposition...both of them must've resembled Carrie's family, more than anything else - but, I'm fair complected and so is my biological Mother....with green eyes...
Anyway - I wanted to say a very heartfelt THANK YOU - it's so wonderful to make these connections. It has filled a hole, for me...and, it's been GREAT STUFF!
I wish YOU & YOURS a VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING! And, thank you for being so kind as to make ME so THANKFUL!

|Mel ||Correction for Russell|
Hello John, First of all, thanks for all your work here. I would like to give you some information that should lead to a correction for Albert Lee Russell. He is linked to Roy Logan Russell as his son, however Roy Logan is not his son. The father of Roy Logan Russell is Albert Hughey Russell, who was married to Sarah Jane McKee. I am the grand daughter of Roy Logan Russell and this is well documented information in my family records. Is there a way you can correct the information and remove Roy Logan Russell from the record of Albert Lee, who is not his father? Thank you and please feel free to contact me if you need more information.

I met many people at a family reunion I attended with my natural mother. I may have met her...but, it was a Smith reunion...so, maybe not?
I guess that would make Billie my great aunt!
SO COOL to meet you, John! I truly, truly do appreciate your kind help!
Please give Billie a hug, next time you see her! If I haven't met her, I sure would love to!
Write when you can!
TAKE CARE! :)

Good evening John..
Thank you for the information on the Morrows. I have added the family links you have given me.
|j*||RE: your grandmother?|
Wow, John! IT IS!!!
I didn't know that she'd remarried, again. I've been searching for her under the surname Rowe.
YOU, Sir, are AWESOME! :)
THANKS so MUCH! If you were here, I'd give you a GREAT BIG HUG!

|Carol Cotton||RE: JJ LeFan spouses (East Mount Cemetery, Greenville, TX)|
Thanks so much for catching my error. I'd written the numbers down right but boo-booed when I typed them. So that leaves J J LeFan having three wives which is what I was striving for. I'm distantly related to the first wife, Georgie McKelvey LeFan, buried in Alabama. Thanks again.

Thanks so much for posting my grandfather's grave photo along with other information. He died when I was 8 years old but I remember him well.
