I am an amateur genealogist living in Indiana. I started researching in the 1990's. |
I have been researching not only my own family lines, but also those of many of my in-laws and other close relatives. As such, I have studied nearly 50 different family lines, mostly in Indiana (especially Vigo, Orange, Lawrence and Martin Counties,) but also in Kentucky, Tennessee and Kansas.
I've done research and transcription work for a number of Indiana USGenWeb sites, and have been a transcriber for the USGenWeb Census Project for many years.

|Glenda Barry||Hazel Picou|

Thank you for the info, I have added it. Let me know if you want them transferred over to you. There are 6 Picou family members buried there that I can transfer if you wish. Have a good weekend!
|David Peters||Col, Jacob Ogle|
I came across your posting of Col. Ogle's gravestone in Vigo,Indiana. One minor error he was born in Cumberland, Pa., not Va. In 1820 Cumberland,Pa. was divided up into a few counties, the main one that was formed was Perry, so he was was born 1791 Bartlett's Cove Penn Twp., Cumberland, Co., Pa.(now Perry)It's near the current town of Duncannon and close to current border with Cumberland co.
I'm a descendant of his brother James and his wife Rachel Willis. Jacob is probably named for his maternal grandfather Johann Jacob Weiser, the nephew of Conrad Weiser the noted frontiersman and Indian agent. Jacob's other brother John was also married to Martha Beatty the siosre of Sarah Beatty.

Robert, do you know the location of book 14?
I have been looking for it and no one seems to know where it is or if it still exists.

The Pioneer account was fantastic. I was Baptized in Liberty Baptist Church and we own land there on the other side of Liberty Baptist Church Road across from where Eli Way originally purchased land. I landed here via research into Abraham Workman and land records. Mr. Workman has an obelisk at the top of the hill behind our home.
