Sharon, do you know anyone in the area of the Peck Burying Ground who can restore her headstone?

Thank you for updating the memorial.
May I have permission to post your cemetery photos (with attribution) to my family research site? I am currently looking at Ann Askew and the Thomases at Linwood Cemetery, Columbus.

Greetings Sharon, Have you a Michael Thomas 1745 1807, from around Elizabeth Town, Bladen Co in your tree? He had a son Jonathan, 1782-1840 who married Katherin McAlpin from Cumberland Co. Just wondering!

Been there and done that too. Glad I could help. Was fun doing the hunt. After that I could link three of the children with Jacob and Mary, so all was good. Any idea on Alice M maiden name to add to Jacob's bio?

In regard to the questionable spouse of Mary married to Jacob. The marker reads "wife of J M Frantz". Mary is only found on the tombstone as being wife of Jacob that I could find. I did a little research and found the following.
The census trail:
In 1880 Jacob (listed as J Marshall) is with parents age 16 and single.
Now in the 1900 census, Jacob (listed as Marshall) and Alice have been married less than a year, she has 0 children. But there are four children listed in the household. Annie (b 9-1887), Louis (b 3-1889), Henry (b 3-1890), Fannie (b 9-1891). Census has Alice M as born 1876 so that would make her 11 years old when the first child Annie was born, so assume these four children are not hers.
Next the 1910 census has Jacob (again listed as Marshall) as M2 in marriage status. Census has he and Alice married for 10y and she has had 2 children. (adding to the conclusion that the other four children are not Alice's) There ARE two more children in the household by this time, John and Robert.
Therefore, the conclusion I make from the census is :
1.Mary is the first wife of Jacob (she had 4 children) she died before 1900 and he remarried before the 1900 census.
2. Alice M. is the second wife of Jacob (she had 2 children).

Hello, John and Christenater Thomas were my 6th great grandparents. A grandaughter married Theo Hill who's daughter, Sarah - "Maria Del Carmen" - married Francisco Xavier Sanchez of St Augustine, FL. I gather that you have kept the Thomas name through male descendants, and that in some manner we may be distantly related. I am alwys happy to meet living relatives and would be happy to share information with you if that would be your desire..
