|I am a Chambers County, AL native (fifth generation) now living in North Shelby County, AL. My g-g-great-grandfather founded the Methodist Church in Standing Rock, AL and was active in that community even though his farm was in Troup County, GA just across Wehadkee Creek.|
I am particularly interested in the cemetery at the current location of the Standing Rock Methodist Church because three generations of my grandparents are buried there along with many, many other relatives.
I was introduced to my family history at an early age when my daddy took me to family landmarks, cemeteries and other historical sites in eastern Chambers County. I have dabbled in genealogy for many years, and am now in the process of compiling my notes and computer files into a document that can be printed and donated to the Chambers County, AL Archives in my home town of Valley, AL.
I enjoy sharing my information and photos with others researching my family lines.

Hi there Sandra
I transferred all of them to you hoping that this they are someone that you would care for. I can not remember who I was helping when I was looking up the surname "Jackson" in that county.
Best regards to you and all yours, Bud

I deleted the duplicate. Larry is my 1st cousin. I live in Michigan but grew up in Lafayette. We were down there last week and I walked the Center Baptist Church Cemetery 3 times and could not find his grave. We are going back in March and I'm going to walk until I find it. It will be cooler than the 80s last week.

Hello Sandra Bonner Adair,
Thank you for your in inquiry. Samuel Megginson, Jr.'s tombstone is unique in my experience and the carver, William Rufus "Rock" Jackson is a very interesting character. He is the subject of a thesis which is in .pdf format. I would be happy to send you a copy if I had your email address. Let me hear from you.
Thanks for spotting that. Duplicate deleted.

I've linked the Reeses as you requested. Hoping to get back to the cemetery during the winter and get more photographs. It's very overgrown and not a place to be crawling around in during warm weather months.
Added Links Thanks
