I've been researching my families for over 30 years. Currently, I'm trying to scan & share a large collection of old family photographs and documents that have come to me from various relatives, mostly my late grandmother.|
As I scan & prepare the photographs, I'm trying to post as many as possible to findagrave for others to enjoy. Especially the very old ones. Some that are labeled are not of known family connections so I'm also researching the names in an attempt to identify them.
One that I am very proud of is Jesse Elton McEwen, buried at Palms Woodland Cemetery, Miami-Dade Co FL. It took a fair amount of research to figure out that he is probably not related, but simply a neighbor of an ancestor in Carroll Co GA. I've created a memorial for him with the information I collected. Please visit his site and show him some love.
Another memorial that I'm very proud of is for my ancestor, William Francis Marion Nobles, who died as a prisoner of war at Camp Douglas IL. His final resting place is Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, Cook Co IL. Please visit him also.
I hope you enjoy visiting my paternal great grandfather, Hilborn Whit Hulsey. My maternal grandfather, Rev Virgil Sizemore, preached his funeral before there was a family connection. My parents were only 10 years old and I don't think they met until a few years later. If you know any of the people mentioned that aren't linked, please let me know.
Surnames I'm connected to include: Adair, Ashworth, Barnett, Beam, Black, Burks, Cates, Clore, Crow, Dickson, Dunson, Estes, Gilbert, Hendrix, Hulsey, Leathers, Lowe, Lyle, McBrayer, McGlathery, Meadors, Mobley, Mote/Motte, Nobles, Pate, Parr, Pinson, Reid, Sanders, Sizemore, Stanford, Steele, Stephens, Tomme, Vining, Waldrop, Williams, and others.
Places I'm particularly connected to include: Laurens Co SC, Henry & Clayton Co GA, Carroll & Haralson Co GA, and Blount & Cullman Co AL.

Thank you, I am so appreciative of the work being done here. I have had contact with several 2nd + cousins from the site. This Sewell project has taken on a life of it's own :-)

I see you left a flower on memorial 29857743 with a hint to WG's parents. Thank you so much. - Carolyn

Hey Debbie! We may have a Parr Connection. My gg-grandmother was Texanna Parr Tolbart. Married John Arthur Tolbart, both are buried in Blount County, Alabama.
She went by different name in the Census...the 1860 Census showed her as Lucinda Paul with Caroline Parr and husband Travis Ivey. then the 1870 census has her as T Parr and listed her being a sister. 1880 Cherokee County Census listed her as being Nannie T. Tolbart with husband John A. Tolbart.
I am night quite convince that Caroline and Texanna are sister. I have a feeling that Texanna could have been born out of wedlock and Caroline could be the mother. It's a mystery for sure.
Looking forward connecting with another Parr cousin.

Hey Debbie, just wanted to update you. I've been working on the Mt Olive memorials. Trying to fix them, I have emailed Edit@findagrave.com to Merge them. It may take a while though, says they're backed up.

First, let me compliment you on all your hard work.
However, I know that we who are tracing our family lines want to be as accurate as possible.
So I just wanted you to know that You have attached the wrong parents to Bernard Burkard. He the children of Adam N. Burkard Not Andrew N Burkard. You can verify it on the 1910 census of Cullman, Alabama. Adam N. Is also a son of Catherine and Martin Burkard. He is listed with them on the 1880 census. I have yet to find where Adam is buried.
Again, I thank you for your work and thought maybe you would like to correct the error on Find A Grave. I you have any questions, you can email me.

I sent you a personal email, hope you got it.
