I've been researching my families for approximately 30 years. Currently, I'm trying to scan & share a large collection of old family photographs and documents that have come to me from various relatives, mostly my late grandmother.|
As I scan & prepare the photographs, I'm trying to post as many as possible to findagrave for others to enjoy. Especially the very old ones. Some that are labeled are not of known family connections so I'm also researching the names in an attempt to identify them.
One that I am very proud of is Jesse Elton McEwen, buried at Palms Woodland Cemetery, Miami-Dade Co FL. It took a fair amount of research to figure out that he is probably not related, but simply a neighbor of an ancestor in Carroll Co GA. I've created a memorial for him with the information I collected. Please visit his site and show him some love.
Another memorial that I'm very proud of is for my ancestor, William Francis Marion Nobles, who died as a prisoner of war at Camp Douglas IL. His final resting place is Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, Cook Co IL. Please visit him also.
I hope you enjoy visiting my paternal great grandfather, Hilborn Whit Hulsey. My maternal grandfather, Rev Virgil Sizemore, preached his funeral before there was a family connection. My parents were only 10 years old and I don't think they met until a few years later. If you know any of the people mentioned that aren't linked, please let me know.
Surnames I'm connected to include: Ashworth, Barnett, Beam, Black, Burks, Cates, Clore, Crow, Dickson, Dunson, Gilbert, Hendrix, Hulsey, Leathers, Lowe, Lyle, McBrayer, McGlathery, Meadors, Mobley, Mote/Motte, Nobles, Pate, Parr, Pinson, Reid, Sanders, Sizemore, Stanford, Steele, Stephens, Tomme, Vining, Waldrop, Williams, and others.
Places I'm particularly connected to include: Laurens Co SC, Henry & Clayton Co GA, Carroll & Haralson Co GA, and Cullman Co AL.
My collection of genealogy books includes some on county cemeteries. As time permits, I'll be adding memorials to FAG.

Sorry haven't gotten back to you on your last message before now. Not related to any of them that I know of in Georgia, there is Adamson's in Eva Al that was related on the Bates side of the family.
|John Atkins||RE: Hulseys in Winston Co, AL|
She was my ex-grandmotherinlaw. A very nice lady. Mary Helen Hulsey Hall was my ex-motherinlaw. John W Hall was Helen's husband.
|Gordon Houston Holmes||Artis Hendrix|
Yup, same as well, a cousin, his parents Albert and Sarah (Davis). With Sarah parents, William and Harret (Holmes), both parents are cousins as well. Thanks for posting updates, FYI Martha is also a cousin, as you can see, there are several Holmes family members doing research and that's great
Take care and enjoy the Holidays
|Martha Jean Holmes Saint Grimes||Belvie Bates|
Yes Uncle Bennie is my Great Uncle, I haven't traced it but my Great Grandmother Idella Wood Holmes just might be related to Aunt Belvie since she was a wood.

I was pleased to find your memorial for Viola Hulsey. Do you have a record of her husband A. F. Hulsey, possibly in the same cemetery? Thanks,
|Martha Jean Holmes Saint Grimes||Aunt Belvie Bates|
This is getting so interesting, Belvie is my Great Aunt and my Great Grandmother (Mary Alice Key Thompson) was a Key and our family of Key & Thompson are buried there. My Mother was a Childers but her Mother (Bessie Lee Bates) was Uncle Bennie's sister.
|Martha Jean Holmes Saint Grimes||McGlathery|
We use to have Aunt Jennie McGlathery who went to church at Gandy's Cove Methodist when I was a kid. She lived between Cold Springs & Falkville, which is called McGlathery Town. She lived to be 100 years old.

Well Debbie, I was raised out side of Cullman at a little town called Eva, have gone to Simcoe so many times and all over Cullman County, it's a small world.
|Martha Jean Holmes Saint Grimes||James McBrayer|
Thanks for the links for his Mom & Dad. I have added them to the memorial
|Martha Jean Holmes Saint Grimes||McBrayer|
Debbie, just thinking you might know my friend Tommie Etta McBrayer Sanders who was raised in Temple, Carroll Co. Georgia.
