I am a native of Abilene, Texas and grew up and currently live in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. I married my high school sweetheart and we will celebrate 28 years of wedded bliss this year. We have one son who is 26 years old.
My Great-Aunt was a professional genealogist, and I can remember sitting and listening to the family lore. I have always been interested in family history and have always been fascinated by cemeteries. Like many of my fellow stone-seekers, I, too, was ridiculed by childhood friends because I wanted to cut through the cemetery, not walk around it! I have been actively researching our family histories for 20 years.
My darling husband is always willing to help with a transcription project, and we tend to plan our vacation routes so that we can visit a few cemeteries.
I would like to dedicate my work at Find A Grave to the memory of my great-aunt, Lula Raye Hudson Mundy and to the memory of my grandmother, IvaLee McCrary Pitts. It is from these two wonderful women that I inherited the passion for family history and a deep respect for our ancestors.
NOTE: 22 March 2012 - Life has been hectic recently and I am behind in making requested changes. To date I still have 25 open requests dating as far back as mid December 2011. Please bear with me as I continue to work on catching up! | |
