Henry Rackelbush
Henry Rackelbush

I noticed you had a photo request for Henry in the Marysville Cemetery, the request is now gone, but no photo was placed in his memorial. His obituary in the Marysville Daily Appeal, 1-15-1907, stated he was to be buried in the family plot in the Marysville Cemetery. The Rackelbush Plot is located on the cemetery map dated 1924, then we looked at the plot in the cemetery grounds, it does not have any visible headstones or markers, but we did not probe. This plot is listed on the map under the name of J. J. Rackelbush. When looking in the Burial Book records it seems there was a mix up of some sorts as it states Henry was from Ireland and buried in Yuba City, Sutter County, California, which is just across the river from Marysville, Yuba County. Also there is a Jennie Rackelbush, 20 years old, recorded as being buried in the Marysville Cemetery on Nov. 10, 1902. Rackelbush being spelled, Rackelbusch under her name in the burial book.
If you would like to have copies of any of the items I have mentioned please feel free to contact us through the message in findagrave or email at, hope we can help and will be glad to post at least a picture of the plot. GMT

I do not have that picture. I will call my husband's mother tomorrow and she if she has it.

RE: Janet McAuslan
I'm descended from William McAuslan, one of Janet's older brothers. Another brother, the oldest, Peter McAuslan, left drafts of letters he wrote. One dated 1898 from internal evidence (he speaks of his daughter Agnes who had recently died, and her death is known to be Jan 1898) is to his sister Agnes McAuslan Allan who was living in Bluff, Utah. She is the one who raised Janet's boys. Peter Allan was heading off for a mission to Scotland and apparently Agnes wanted him to have family genealogical information. The letter gives family data about their parents, grandparents, siblings, and his children. In that list, he says, "Jannett McAuslan born December 11th 1840, died August 3rd, 1890." Maddeningly, he doesn't say why or where, or where buried.

Hi! Can you please call the cemetery and obtain the grave location (Section & Lot numbers) and ask them whether or not there is a grave marker? Please post this information to the memorial or send it to me.

Forest Home is a huge cemetery with well over 70,000 burials, and the information is needed in order to find someone there. I go here regularly, and since August I have found over 150 graves at Forest Home that had the location information provided. Thank you! Ace

The Rusholme Rd Cemetery has been moved and they have built where the cemetery once stood. The first burial took place in 1821 and last in 1933 and which was transferred to the Manchester Corporation by the Manchester Coproration act 1954. I learned this when I visited Manchester Library in 1999.

Brian's ashes are buried in the Lexington Cemetery in in of our four family plots. Nola and Edgar in one...Craig in one and Brian in one. I do not have the plot number but I've been told some of Brian's friends got together and bought him a headstone not too long ago. Certainly the caretaker at Lexington will know the plot number. I haven't visted there in quite some time so I do not have any photos for you.

RE: Albert Hattaway
Hi Tom,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Thank you for asking about Mama, it's a joy to hear from someone who had contact with her while she was working on her geneology. She loved it so. Unfortunately, 2011 has been a rough year for us, as Mama passed away on January 19 and Daddy on January 30. I'm the eldest child and all the family photos are with me are all of her geneology records. I want to work on it but to be quite honest, it's taken a week of vacation for me to even take a small dive. I did post some photos that I've scanned. Will try to do more as time permits. I think I posted a photo of one or two of your folks. Thanks for moving it over, do you also have our grandmother, Helen Walling Hattaway Bennett? I'm sure we'll connect more.

Again, I appreciate your swift reply, please contact me if I can assist in any way.

Ellis E. Beedle
I have added a photo of the grave marker for Ellis E. Beedle at Mt. Pisgah. The photo was the one on file at the cemetery, however, if you would like a better photo, I am glad to go up to the cemetery and take a photo.

The official location of the grave within the cemetery is:

Block 24 Lot 1 S1/2-N1/2

Records from the funeral home state that he died in Casper, (Natrona County) Wyoming. No cause of death was listed.

If you would like me to reseach the obituary to add to the memorial, I can do that as well. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do.
