Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on my family history for 17 years now. My main surnames are Wheeler, Allard, Morey, Burgess,Fifield, and Zina. Leatrice is pronounced like Beatrice, however I prefer to be called Lea ("Lee").

I give you permission to use my photos and notes, just give me credit for them. I am putting the info out there so that our descendants will have the correct information after I pass on. Many hours and years of research have been devoted to this which I hope will benefit someone.

I will gladly transfer memorials, just ask!

Are you a dependent of the above person? I am related to Rachel Ann Sawyer her Grandmother. I would be interested if you have any information on the Sawyer family?

RE: Gilbert Morey
You are very welcome. I have seen the same "mis-information" about his death and burial on Rootsweb.
Glad we were able to get him buried in the correct cemetery!!

RE: Gilbert Morey
This is what I found today:
"Salisbury, NC Roll of Honor
2322, Murray (Morey), Gilbert, Private, Co E, 10th New Hampshire, died Jan. 27, 1865."
Gilbert is buried at Salisbury National Cemetery.
According to the cemetery site, 11,700 prisoners from Salisbury Prisons were buried in 18 trenches measuring 240' long. It appears there are no individual headstones.
And they misspelled his last name.
So, he was a prisoner at Salisbury, not Libby Prison. And died at Salisbury, not Richmond.
Gilbert is a 2nd cousin.

Nancy Morey
Death record says she was single, no parents listed, but her father was a farmer. Born and died in Wilmot. Age 21, worked doing housework. So she isn't Jacob's wife, nor his daughter. As she is on the 1850 census with him, any chance she was an unrecorded sister?

William Morey
Nancy Morey, listed on the 1850 census with William, James and Jacob, died 4 May, 1852, Wilmot. She was single.

William Morey
Is this the William Morey who in 1850 is living in Wilmot with children: Jacob, James and Nancy. On the 1860 census is living with son Jacob and his wife Helen Lovejoy Morey?
James married an Emma, so Nancy is not his wife. No one ever mentions William having a daughter Nancy.
