You know, I tried to find the sources too and could not even though it listed [2]. I thought perhaps I was missing something, but you've confirmed they weren't there. The other thing you said about the Plymouth Vital Records missing some pages. YES! I had no idea that it was common knowledge - but family LORE has been passed down through 7 generations that (public/town) records were hidden, and / or destroyed to hide the truth about Elisha Doten being a sympathizer of the Crown. I guess his family considered very shameful, and they were also afraid of having lands with Elisha's name on the deed confiscated by the newly formed United States Government. After the Revolution, all Crown Sympathizers were subjected to deportment, and all property seized.

LOL I wasn't offended, I promise. I was actually looking for some "hard" evidence when I got your last message. I appreciate people who want sources to be good! Anyway, I found this in the LDS site - in a [Pedigree Resource File - Clark2015] (which LDS claims is a )"Large file that has been carefully sourced".

Did you check the John Howland Book? Dates are in there, as well. Also this information is what all my elder cousins agree with. Jerusha is our 5th great aunt. We have dates in the family bible, but I realize that counts as "other people's genealogies". Sadly, you may never find what you require - as Mercy and Jerusha were hidden from the records, because of their Father Elisha's Loyalist bent. There's a lot more to their story than most people know. Sorry I couldn't provide you with more solid proof.

John Mitchell
William Curtis Hall 1845-1943
Hi Sandra, I`m writng about my great great grandfather William Curtis Hall. Thanks very much for your posting but a correction I need to mention. The middle names are Charles not Curtis in the Hall line. This grandfather was a stone mason and built the Forefathers Monument and the Pavilion in which Plymouth Rock sits now. They are direct descendants of the Mayflower and Certified by the Mayflower Society of Plymouth. Hall street in Plymouth is named after the family and there house still stands.

Many Thanks, John W Mitchell
Son of Ruth Hall Mitchell

Find a Grave photos
I am writing a two-volume book on the 8th Indiana. I would like to include photos of the soldiers and their headstones with their biographies. I would like to use some of your photos in the book and will give you credit in the caption for each photo. If you are interested, I can let you know when the book is published. If it is ok to use your photos, could you also give me your first and last name for the captions?

RE: Elizabeth Churchill #130663480
I have given this further thought and I realize that in Massachusetts the middle initial in the census often reflects the maiden name of a woman. I wonder if this is the reason. Some Grave stones contain a maiden name however in her case this was not to be. Something to consider in the future.

Re: middle name
If you look in the 1901 census while she is living with her parents in Kingsclear, recorded as a teacher, her middle initial is R. Robinson must have some meaning to her family. In the 1920, 1930 census we see the middle initial as A. There is no reference as to what the A stood for.

She married James Mumford on 18 Jan 1852 in Nantucket. When she married Charles on 16 Dec 1873 it was her third marriage and her name was listed as Davis. I did not find any record of her second marriage.
