Of special interest to me is locating the children and grandchildren of Nathan Howell of Chester, Morris County, New Jersey. My goal is to link as many of Nathan's children and grandchildren to Nathan. If you can help in this matter please contact me. |
If you think you have information to add on one of my graves or have questions please contact me. On a personal note I am a World History teacher who enjoys travel, raising birds (cockatiels, parakeets, etc), reading, history and genealogy.
I am researching the following surnames in Hunterdon, Morris Counties of New Jersey.
Other family names of interest to me on my mother's side of the family are:

Steven; My research on the Bird Family line has me potentially linked to the Clawson/Clauson from the
Loudon Co VA lines.
My Derrick Bird(b-1763) Bedminster Co NJ was located in Loudon Co Va.(We think) one of the references refer to Derrick as being a son in law of the Clawson/Clauson Family.
Some of the Clawson/Clauson Families that show in NJ (1780-1795) later show up in Tax and Tithables records,in Loudoun Co Va.
If any of your research refers to the Bird/Clauson
families from VA,Would you consider sharing?

Probably good. Thanks. Her stone and son Isreal's are next to each other and identical. It is always interesting to go and look yourself. LL

Added the son's stone but not a great photo. By the way, you have 2 memorials for the son.

Thanks for adding the info. I've been searching for the obituary for one person but as I find other obits and information in old newspapers, can't resist sharing it along the way. So, no, I'm not related. Have a great day. Rhonda

Hi Steven, I am a descendant of Richard Howell as well. Have you done any research on his line on Long Island? I have hit a couple of 'walls' and was wondering if you can fill in the gaps. My line is:
I am looking for:
1)the name of the 'Wife Reeve' who married John3
2)the parents of Phebe Gates, wife of Reeve4
3)the parents of Caroline E. Jones, wife of Shepard7
No stress if you are unfamiliar. I'm just grasping at straws right now. :-)

I returned to the Chester Congregational Church cemetery to take a photo of the grave of Elias Howell who died in 1864, but couldn't locate it in my brief time there. But I see that someone else has uploaded his photo, and it appears his stone is lying flat on the ground, and today, would have been covered with snow.
I did find the grave for Elias Howell, Esq who died in 1800, but that photo is also already here.
