trying to stay ahead of developers who want to cover historical markers... and the weather, time and vandals that obscure the inscriptions... to honor those that walked before us.|
Although I visit cemeteries whenever I travel (to the dismay of others in the car), most of my work is in Vermont, New Hampshire, New York's lower Hudson Valley and Washington State's Skagit County.
Whenever possible, I post a photo--a photo makes it real. I also try to list the sources I've used to stitch together family relations or any info that I might find. I will not link to those who are listed as burial location unknown.
Thank you in advance for sending in corrections or additions using the Edit button. I appreciate your updates very much. Although I try to thank and acknowledge all corrections, I may not always have the time. Edits posted in the message area below will be ignored and deleted.
I transfer direct relatives within three generations (that means: your siblings, parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren). As Richard H so aptly puts it:
"... someone who died 200 years ago could be related to thousands of people." Please use the virtual cemetery feature to group your family memorials.
My activity is seasonal--I use the New England winters to create new memorials with the images I've collected the rest of the year. There are several thousand waiting to be processed...

Thank you but you didn't have to turn him over to me, but I appreciate it.

I thought my email was public - it is firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for the info you sent on Ella B , will try to find her 2nd marriage & a death. It has bothered me that I couldn't find it. My research came from family records in Pennsylvania & once I had the correct New England lines & the appropriate names & census I was off & running. Earl Henry Johnson married Bernice Maude Chaffee they had one daughter named - Beverly Esther Johnson. She was born in North Thetford, Orange County, VT. There are strong family ties to Vermont & New Brunswick, my grand daughter and her "other" grand parents & of course their children had no clue of the history and strong ties to New England. In fact, they did not know where Earl was buried or where he died. That was recently discovered in a basement document at my son-in-laws parent's house. I kept saying, there has to be a document somewhere and there was!So more & more of the story unfolds....Much of what I have found is posted on the Bathgate Sheaffer Family Tree on Ancestry. Are you on Ancestry? I could send you this tree link via email, would need yours. Kayla Snyder

I am concerned about the daughter you posted on Rollin's page - I have not found any reference to her at all. Anna or Annie Beatrice Johnson born 1891. What have you found on her? You mentioned she married a William Sorenson, I just can't get it to work...any more details? I do believe that Earl went to live with his grandparents in Theftford, VT, they are in the 1900 census together, no Ella or Anna. Kayla

Re: Lucille Starr Scully, St. Anthony Cemetery, White River Jct., Vt.
Hi, LadyGoshen and first of all thank you very much for all your hard work in recording cemetery data on Find A Grave.
I note that on the above Memorial # for Lucille Starr Scully that she was the daughter of John Starr and Catharine O'Donnell. I believe, in fact, that she was their granddaughter. She was never married and her maiden name was Scully and her actual middle name was Starr.
She was a first grade teacher in the Hartford, Vt School District for many years.
Again, thank you for all your hard work.

Dear LG. I found 2 stones in the Partridge Family Plot that may very well be Ruben and his wife. They are next to Samuel and Ruth's stone. The inscriptions are too worn to read except the dates look to be 1820 on one and 1820 or 1829 on another. Please drop me a line at email@example.com and I'll send you some shots of the stones and the cemetery. Please use "Find A Grave Request" in the heading.

Cool! Thanks for your extra research.
Dear Mrs. Lady Goshen,
Wow wow wow-thank you so much. this is amazing to see an actual photo of the Bull grave marker9in Washingtonville Cemetery).
I have one request however- I would love to print it off but it is not clear enough to do that. is there any way you may still have the photo in a file somewhere?? I would be thrilled to show this to my mother-in-law. she is the Gr. Gr. granddaughter, From there 5th child Isaac Jones Bull.
This the first time on your site-do you think their may be other BULL family buried here or near by????
thanks you again so much for your selfless act. You just made my day....
