Bio Photo Don't judge me because I like to stroll through cemeteries and marvel at the beauty and mystique of old tombstones. Have you ever actually stopped and look around to see the art and effort put into an old gravesite? In my opinion it's breathtaking. Before modern machinery tombstones were handmade and took many hours to complete. Each one carved and chiseled to the correct size, shape, and detail. Today, tombstones are made on a press, engraved, polished and ensured to last for centuries to come. Finding a hundred year old tombstone still legible is a cemetery lover's dream! I find myself brushing my fingertips across names of people I don't know wishing their souls an eternity of peace and thanking them for allowing me to appreciate their resting place. Follow me as I adventure into the unknown cemeteries along my travels and at home.

I made a couple of corrections that you asked for and it just kept haunting me that I had seen your name and then either you or someone else asked me to try and read the dates on Charles M. Withrow tombstone ie Jan. 19, 1923 -- Oct. 16, 1925. So I did some checking and am I correct that your father was Alfred Burney and your mother was Anna Marilyn Withrow Burney and your grandfather was William Foster Withrow and your grandmother Alma Whitehouse. Therefore your great grandfather was John Clellan Withrow and your great grandmother was Ora D. ????? and your great great grandfather was Isaac Withrow and your great great grandmother was Elizabeth J. Reid, this is so much fun I can't believe that I have been doing genealogy for over 35 years, wish that I would have started when I was young, I'm going to be 72 this month. If you would like to know more about the Withrows let me know. My grandfather was Ozro Lyle Withrow he was born in southern Oregon and I was born in Portland, Oregon.

Thank you so much for the picture! It really means a lot to me. I've had a bad year and just seeing that added some sunshine! I wish I could go there myself, but Texas is a bit far!

Thanks again!

Thank you so very much for the tombstone picture for Verdie Virginia Nodine Cantrell. Also, thank you for being a part of Find A Grave. This is such a help to those of us who live too far and are getting too old to make the long dive to the Carolinas. I really miss getting to come there.

Thank You, but I do not want to maintain her memorial. I have been photographing the Rose Hill Cemetery and in doing so when I find I can update memorial or add obits to them I do.

I photographed the Cherry Hill Cemetery this past week. I to had trouble reading the death date on this memorial. I saw you bio and looked in the Muhlenberg Co Cemetery Book Vol 1 page 91 and see they read it May 21 1971 as Oct 16, 1925.

I believe that it is as follows:

Jan. 19, 1923 Muhlenberg Co. Kentucky
October 16, 1925 Muhlenberg Co. Kentucky.

RE: Irony...
It's so weird. I was just out for a drive after a rough day and had my camera with me. Such a pretty church...decided to get out and take photos. Great minds think alike!

I got the picture you requested for Ernest Donner in L.I.N.C. I also added a picture to the memorial for Ruth.
Have a good one...

You have given me a very special Christmas "present". This will be a valuable addition to my research. I have only been at this since about August - so I have a lot to learn and a tremendous amount of info to hunt for!!!

Could you let me know what other Foster's you upload so I can add them to my ever growing stacks and stacks of paper!!!

Thanks again!!!! Happy Holidays!!!!! :)
