can you help?

I have seen a different wife for Lee named Julia Wilhelmina Schroeder but it makes no sense as it appears she was much older (b. 1852) than Lee Wheelock (b. 1897).

Do you know anything about the Wheelock family?
Thanks and thanks for all you do in F.A.G.

RE: Hintz family at North Northfield
I have looked into military markers for family members. My problem is that I don't have papers, and it's impossible for me to get those at this point in time. I have not delved into getting around that requirement.

Eugene does not show any military service, but Leroy does. However, Leroy's late son Phillip has three living children whom I have not yet been able to contact, and they would be the grandchildren, while I have cousin status and no papers. I would very much feel as if I were stepping on toes.

When I first learned of this program, I was rather dismayed at the amount of money I had laid out for the stones of my son, my mother, my father, and my grandfather. Both my father and grandfather would have qualified. I still have a missing grandmother, and if I find her, and she's unmarked, that will likely fall to me, too. I'm sure that my mother would prefer this, anyway; as farmers, times were often tight, but she was adamant that we would take no government aid. And of course, the funeral home didn't mention it.

I will continue to try to contact "the kids" to see if there's any interest or information there. I believe that I have found one of their current addresses. Thanks so much for the suggestion. :)

RE: Hintz family at North Northfield
Well, from what I understand, the papers came over in boxes, and I can only assume that no additional help was hired to put things in order. They've really been a lot of help, though!

What puzzles me most is why this family had such a high rate of unmarked graves there? Do you have any idea of family dynamics that might have lead to this? It seems to be only at this cemetery? The lack of memorial stones with this branch just makes me curious.

Edward & Amanda Gieseke
Thank you for posting the headstones of my aunt and uncle. I am a member of Find A Grave and have been adding headstones/markers of my family. I sent info to link Edward (my dad's brother) with his mother and father buried at St. Peter's Cemetery in Arlington Heights. Donna Gieseke Turek

RE: Hintz family at North Northfield
I think it's probably more likely that her burial is on cards.rather than in the main register, as happened with others of this clan. Until I turned up the obits in the Trib, the cards were not found. Northbrook is doing a really great job of working to sort these out, but it's not all going to happen at once.

RE: Hintz family at North Northfield
This is something I can follow with Paul when I come there this summer. When I was looking at William's photos, it looked as if the stone was originally created to allow four names. It bears only Jr. and Sr.

Not sure where she is. Haven't found the records .. yet. :)

So many Hintzes, so little time.

Thanks! Have a lovely weekend!

Donald's mother, Burnetta Scharff Hintz is to be buried there, too. Does your lot map show that? I'm wondering if she's unmarked as well?
