Bio and Links
I live in Yuma, Arizona in the winter, and then travel to Iowa during the summer months. I do much family research using Ancestry.com as well as much time in libraries and cemeteries. I have been to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City several times.

Some of the families I research are Brown, Ackley, Hopkins, Shuey, Wenrick, Lingle, and Haake. The names I research on my husbands side are Thompson, Bradburn, Wooten, Calvert, Hudson, Taylor, and Lockett.

My husband and I retired from our employment in 1991 and 1992. We traveled full time for eleven years before setting in Yuma for the winters.

Duplicate Memorial for Loren Haake
Beverly,
I created a memorial for Loren Haake (120101487 and was just informed that you had one for the same person (114441290), with simply "Son" as his name. Larry Kleine is the person who informed me of this, and he added a really nice sharp grave photo to the one which I had made.
Should I just delete mine and perhaps ask Larry to add his photo to yours. If that is what you want, I'll do it, but could I ask that your photo be deleted in favor of the sharper one?

RE: Hazel Mae Washburn Plett
My sincerest apologies Beverly as once again I need to correct myself due to faulty information. After further investigation I have discovered two more children that Hazel had: a boy and a girl. To my knowledge they are both still living. The boy's name is Paul Plett and the girl's is Lois Himes. I know Paul used to live right outside of Muscatine, Iowa years ago, but the last known location of him I can find is Cranston, Iowa. The only location for Lois I have dug up so far is in Rock Island, Illinois. All three of the deceased boys are buried in the Blue Grass Cemetary in Blue Grass, Iowa. Here are their Find A Grave memorial numbers: Alvin F. Plett #50224144, Merle C. Plett #83789558, and Plett (Infant Son) #93328345. All three memorials mention Hazel. Hope this helps you.

RE: Hazel Mae Washburn Plett
A little bit more information for you regarding Hazel: I was incorrect about her having four sons. She had three total. The infant I told you about in my last message, Alvin Plett and Merle C. Plett. All are deceased with Merle being the last to go in January 2012.

RE: Hazel Mae Washburn Plett
I apologize for the delay in replying to your message Beverly. I haven't logged into Find A Grave for over a year, so just received your message today. In answer to your question, Hazel Mae Wasburn Plett was married to Ellery C. Plett until his death in an automobile accident in which Hazel was driving and fell asleep at the wheel. As I recall my father telling me, they were in Canada at the time. I never had the pleasure of meeting Hazel and by all accounts she was a very nice lady, but I do know she lived in Wilton, Iowa until her death. To my recollection she and Ellery had three sons and another that died at birth in 1926. The one that died at birth was not named and is buried in the Blue Grass Cemetary under the inscription, "Infant Son". I know exactly where the baby, Ellery and Hazel are buried at in the cemetary so if you would like me to obtain photo's of their graves for you I would be happy to do so. I only live approximately three miles from the cemetary. Let me know and I'll take care of it. I hope this information helps you. If you need anything else, feel free to ask as I would be happy to help in any way I can. Have a lovely day.

RE: Annette (Haake) Davies
Thank you so much for letting me know about Nettie's final resting place. At your suggestion, I did ask for and receive the transfer of both her and her husband's memorials, so they are now done. I do so appreciate your remembering my interest in the Haake's!
