|Linda (Barnby) Hubbard||RE: Almedie McMurtray|
Martha Jane "Mattie" Blevins #114609018 (maiden name Throneberry) is the mother of James Monroe Smith. He is related to my husband's Hodge side of his family. Martha was married a few times, first to John Blevins. Almedie (Blevins) McMurtray #44379758 was their child. Martha was married to John Wesley Smith and they had James Monroe Smith. She later married another Blevins who might not be of the same Blevins family, I have read. Martha and Lee Blevins are found in the 1920, 1930 and 1940 Graham, Carter County, Oklahoma Census records. There is a newspaper obituary for Almedie McMurtray in the Waco-Tribune-Herald, Monday Oct.13, 1947 page 8. It lists her survivors and has her mother as Mattie Blevins of Healdton, Oklahoma. It also lists her brothers as Thomas Blevins and James M. Smith of Healdton, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hope of Denton and Mrs. Grade Aldridge of Pueblo, Colo. Healdton and Graham are both in Carter County Oklahoma and I believe in close vicinity. My mother-in-law was born in Healdton. I did put in some more edits for Martha that haven't went through. I hope this helps to verify. Thank you for making Almedie's Memorial Page!

She is a distant relative.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have came across this before where the burial info is not listed or changed at the last minute. I will change the cemetery.
Again, thanks for the info.
I have a memorial #132216657 for this same Gladys Grout burial at Dallas Ft Worth National Cemetery. Yours was entered earlier with burial at Restland Memorial in Dallas.
I just spoke with the office at DFW and they confirmed she is buried there with her spouse. The way her obituary reads, only her funeral services were at Restland.
If you will change the cemetery to DFW, I will then delete mine,

I just want to thank you for the transfer of this memorial to me. I really appreciate you and all you do for Find A Grave. Have a wonderful day and again, many thanks. Sarah

I have transferred information to the Tilton Cemetery memorial and deleted the duplicate. Thanks for letting me know about this.
