Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am interested in entering and linking as many of my family members as possible for the use of future generations.

If I post any information or photos all users are free to make a copy of these and re-post them to other websites. The more information made available the better for future generations.

As another find a grave contributor stated:
Who would hold hostage - under the pretense of copyright - the photo of a grave stone?

I am particularly interested in preserving the information regarding cemeteries in the Eastern Townships of Quebec such as Ste-Agathe, St-Sylvestre, and St-Jacque-de-Leeds, Inverness, St Pierre, St Patrice, St Severin, St Elzear, and Thetford Mines where many of my ancestors are buried after immigrating from Ireland.

I will finish entering information about burials in those cemeteries up thru 1941 using church records in 2016. Please contact me to transfer your ancestors to your management. Given there are more than 18,000 memorials in these locations I cannot manage them all myself.

In June of 2015 I visited and photographed 4 cemeteries in this area (Ste-Agathe, St-Jacques-de-Leeds, St-Pierre-de-Broughton, and Inverness (St-Athanse). Those photos have been posted. Other stones older than June 2015 no longer exist in those cemeteries. This may because of the age of the marker or because the cemetery has recycled the grave and tossed the marker.

If you visit a cemetery in this or any other area, take your camera! and photograph as many stones as you can, even if they are not your relatives and post them for others!

RE: Edits
I suspected there was something different with all the Marys/Maries/Josephs.

I will not send you any more edits but you need to determine the best way to add these memorials. If the families were mostly unaware that the first names had been added, having them on Find A Grave would make the memorials hard to find. You might consider having the second name as the first name and then have the 'Mary/Marie/Joseph' and second name in the nickname field. That allows the memorials be be found but also documents their 'church (legal?)' names.

You also might consider the Find A Grave forums and ask there the best way to document these memorials if my suggestion above doesn't fit.

Have a good day,
Paul

Hi Barb,

I'm happy to take over the management if you like, but I leave that up to you. I appreciate your efforts.

RE: Hi Barb
Barb, the Huard line in St Elzier and St Severin are all connected to my Huard's GF or uncles and a few cousins, So I will take your Huard's in both Cemeteries since I have most of the research already done on them. Also the wife of one of my uncles #145065056, there is about 7 or 8 in all. My Find A Grave # is 47544559 thanks again.

Hi Barb
I would first like to commend you for such an upbeat Bio you wrote. It made my day. I agree with you in as much as it's all about trying to preserve information for future generations. If you wouldn't mind I would love a transfer of management for 146055367, 146116692 and 145723890. I had already put in some edits for these so don't do them and I will update the information as well as linking to their spouses. My Find A Grave # is 47544559. Thank you again for all the work and effort you are putting forth. Blessings Ellie
