Bio Photo Hi Everybody!!

My name is Lanette Estill-Cooper & I live in central California. Most of my contributions have been in Howard County, Missouri & San Luis Obispo County, California. Death & birth certificates often have misspellings and incorrect information. If you are related to these interees & have any corrections I will gladly change them. Please don't get mad at me like the crazy lady from Hawaii.

If you have information that you would like added I'll be happy to do that also. I am more than happy to make transfers for friends & family. You are welcome to use any of the pictures that I have posted on findagrave.

Half of my entries are in the Santa Margarita Cemetery in Santa Margarita, California. I was helping the local historical society with this cemetery but I am not related to anyone in it. There are about 100 names I haven't listed yet. There are about 100 unmarked graves as well, for which I have some names. If you don't see your relative on findagrave, e-mail me & I will look on the roster I have. If you have any info on these people or any interesting stories about them, the Santa Margarita Historical Society would love to hear from you. They have their own website.

I am always interested in exchanging information with distant cousins. All my people come from Howard County, Missouri or Chaffee County, Colorado. Some of the surnames in my family are Estill, Fisher, Bertschy, O'Malley, Crowley, Lynch, Cowan and Loughney.

Lanette

RE: Hattie Amelia Sumner Gonzales
I don't want to appear like a complete idiot, but I can't find the photo of John Gonzales headstone. did you send it to me or put if on Find A Grave? Some days I need a seeing eye dog just to get me through, sorry for the inconvenience and thanks a hundred times for going the extra mile and finding Teresa. That's what makes this work so incredible isn't it. Mary Jones

Hattie Amelia Sumner Gonzales
Hi Lanette, As I return to this line of my husband's family, I find myself baffled by something. I don't know who entered the information on the above captioned memorial, but Ada Ernestine Haskins is Hattie's mother according to my records. There is a copy of the marriage license between her and George Gilbert Sumner that is the right time frame right place, so I'm just wondering if maybe this isn't a typo. Can't find any other documentation at this time to back my thoughts up, and there is another Hattie Audry Haskins but in an earlier generation.
She was in fact Ada Ernestine's sister. Let me know what you find out and I'll correct my records if you have better info. Still can't find graves for either George Gilbert Sumner or Ada Ernestine Haskins Sumner, and that would be really helpful. Thanks, Mary Jones

Hi Lanette, Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you, for some reason your emails were in my junk file and I never check there. Appreciate your sending the photo of the above captioned headstone. At this point in time, I don't have any record that Hattie had a daughter named Teresa. She did have quite a few children and as you said, this one may have fallen through the cracks. I'll keep looking and see if anything else comes up. Again, thanks - Mary Jones

Michael Paul Alva
I did get the information on the baby and child sections from the original maps of the cemetery that clearly marked those sections as "baby and child sections" and they were not in section Y.

I am deleting my entry for Michael. I can not produce my source for my dates of birth and death because I didn't keep them, so I am not going to get into a spatting match over Michael.

I have always tried to be very careful of what is posted on Find A Grave or for that matter any site that has to do with genealogy due to all the false information that is out there, and unfortunately people don't look at the information or check the sources and that false or misinformed information gets passed down as truth and fact. I have been doing research for almost 50 years and have run into more false information than facts.

I wish you well in your your search for Michael and really do hope that the one listed is the Michael you are both looking for.

Hello Lanette,
\I've been busy and just now had time to reply. No Michael is not from Vincent.. I have no knowledge of his Father.

Thank You for trying to help.. I can only let it be what it is for now.

Michael Paul Alva
Michael Paul Alva by an older cemetery index and a updated one only has date of death being Aug 1970 and that he is buried in Grave 53 Lot 5A Section Y. He is not buried in the baby or child sections of the cemetery which are Sections G and A, 40B, 40C and 52A.

Also he can't be the son of Vincent Alva born 1923 and died 1963. His father would have died 7 years before he was born. Virgina Alva may have remarried but doubtful Michael would have carried the surname of her dead husband. Virgina may have had a child who was born and died in 1970 but very doubtful it was Michael Paul Alva.

The info of the date of birth and the day in Aug Michael died, along with his birth and death place was given to me a while back by another researcher. I do not know who it was but they also sent sources to go with the information.

There are just too many questions for me to be able to add the information that you requested.

RE: Alva
Wow! What a cool story. I remember when he stitched up my knee after I fell and cut it open. I also remember he had a heavy ascent but was so kind. Just a real caring man. God Bless him. :) Best regards to you and yours.
