I am looking for my Family Histories. Family names include Brown, Crow, Denney, Allen, Stephens, Cox, Coats.
I teach Floral Design and Horticulture at City College of San Francisco. Visiting interesting Cemeteries and learning about types of Burial, Community History, Art, Architecture and Plantings are all aspects of the classroom experience I offer to our students.

I am willing to help others with needed photos in the San Francisco Bay Area whenever possible. It is difficult in some venues.

Requests must include the exact location. Some offices limit the number of look ups they will do and who they will do them for. There may be limited office hours or no office/staff. Many of the cemeteries here are very old and have centuries old filing systems.

Several Cemeteries are very old and poorly maintained. Signage is either non existent or incomplete.

Requests that do not have specific locations will be deleted.

Thanks to everyone working on this website!!!

Elizabeth Lambert Brown
Hi Steven,
Penny here. I'm related to the Browns. I'm looking for Elizabeth Lambert Brown's grave. I'm assuming she's buried in the Lambert Cemetery in Greensboro, NC. Do you know this for sure? My son is stationed in Asheville, NC. I'm gathering info for him so he can go directly to the cemetery and local historical societies to collect photos and hardcopy for me.
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

RE: Denny
Thanks so much for your kind words! I rephotographed the entire cemetery recently and I think they improved from when I did them in 2008. Glad I could help.

They are an advertiser and they help support Find A Grave so that it can remain free for everyone. We are in a multi-month campaign with them and I'm not sure if we will renew at the end of the term. Our search results have not changed though. Any names that would have come up prior to our Archives campaign should still come up. We know that advertising can sometimes be intrusive, but we also recognize the importance of having it, as it is the only way the site supports itself.

RE: Denneys of Webster County
Hi Steven, No I am not related to the Denney's. My husband is very distantly related to some Helms. I researched the Denney line for a Helms in OK that requested help. If you have any information requests, I would be happy to do what I can. I am not the fastest, especially in winter, but enjoy researching.
Happy Holidays!

RE: Denneys
Steve-I am not related. I do have some Denney info from helping a friend. Those names are there. We were working on Pharoah Denney born 1849.

RE: Ruth Emeline Doughty
I just uploaded a picture of Ruth Doughty's tombstone.
I also got pictures of the other Doughty's in the cemetery, in case you needed any of them. There are 12 of them. I will get them uploaded in the next few days.

RE: melzora
I know. I thought it was odd too but noone knows why. I can ask my grandpa again. That was his brother and mom but my grandpa is 85 and doesn't remember everything. My dad didn't know why when I asked him last time. I am on ancestry too, although I haven't done a whole lot of research in a while. I have a 3 year old who takes up most of my time. You can email me directly at if you have any questions or anything I will try to answer to the best of what I know. I know that Lee is buried at Sunnylane and Melzora was buried at Resthaven. I don't know if it is because they died so far apart or if there was any issues. You know how family doesn't like to talk about that stuff for some reason. Thanks. Have a great day.
