Hi. Would you have any idea where in the cemetery this stone might be or what it looks like? I've searched a few times without luck so far. There has been an issue with cemetery ownership, so I doubt I'll be able to get any information that way. Thanks.

William Litts @ Swartswood Cemetery
I found the cemetery but couldn't find William Litts on the toppled Litts marker. Cornelia, wife of Abraham Litts was the only carved side showing. The side against the ground may be his ... was just too heavy for me to move. Will post Cornelia's shortly

Cemetery is located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, Pennsylvania side, just south of Tom's Creek Picnic area. Watch for the sign for Mile Marker 4. There is semi-circle gravel parking area directly opposite Valley View Campsite entrance. Park and walk back along the North entrance drive then take the footpath into the woods. This path opens up to a woods road, take right fork & follow woods road to the top of the bluff. Cemetery overlooks Rt 209 and a large corn field.

Many toppled stones, downed trees, in this related families burial grounds. Scores of ancient fieldstone markers, some with lettering. A lovely spot with a wonderful view of the rich agricultural fields which first drew the settlers into the valley.

Hi Bob
I recently began documenting some PA burials in Pike County, and learned that Valley View and Swartwood are the same cemetery. Anyhow, in the process of asking FindAGrave to link the two names, I also gave them better info then they had on the location of the cemetery.

The reason I thought you'd care about this is that you have a photo request for Swartwood, and a guy who wanted to fulfill it couldn't find the cemetery... Maybe he can now.
