RE: MATTHEWS marriage
Hi John. Well I heard from my distant relatives and they have pretty good info. from family stories and documentation that I feel pretty comfortable linking my GGG to her parents, Ben and Sarah Matthews. Do you still have the original size JPG photos of their headstones and the cemetery? Would you mind sending them to me or re-uploading your photos to Find A Grave in that size? I make videos with pictures and info on them for my family to get them - especially the younger crowd - interested in learning their family history. I haven't been on Find A Grave that long, but just a couple of years ago the maximum size was 500 KB. Now it is up to 8 MB! Getting hotter here in Dallas. Tricia

RE: MATTHEWS marriage
Hi John, Thank you for sending such a detailed answer. I have as yet seen the research from distant members, but you have given me some sources to check if they haven't. Dallas is still as hot as ever, and the traffic is terrible due to the construction. But I will take these 100+ days in the summer rather than the bitter cold of the winter up north. Again, thanks for the info. Tricia

RE: Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery
Thank you for your reply. A request for combining the two Find A Grave Fellowship cemeteries (white)- Fellowship Cemetery and Fellowship Baptist Cemetery in Upson County, Georgia has been made since they are the same cemetery. It would be nice to have a note on the Find A Grave Fellowship Baptist Church cemetery noting it is black. Maybe in time the error will be corrected as it was for the Friendship cemetery located a short distance from the Fellowship cemeteries.

RE: Benjamin & Sarah MATTHEWS
John, your information on the marriage date of Benjamin and Sarah (Oct 12, 1809) makes it possible Dorcas Matthews was the first child of Benjamin and Sarah, although a bit of hanky panky may have been going on prior to the marriage as Dorcas was born June 11, 1810, and Ben and Sarah's marriage took place just 8 months - almost to the day - prior. Can you send me the source of Benjamin and Sarah's marriage date? I don't know if my relatives are aware of that information to be discussed. Thanks again. Tricia

RE: Benjamin & Sarah MATTHEWS
Hi John, I went to GA from Dallas in April to document and photograph Dorcas Matthews Herndon's burial site to post on Find A Grave. She and her husband John were my GGG grandparents. I was contacted last week by a distant Herndon relative, who found photos and information on my sites, and informed me Benjamin and Sarah were Dorcas's parents, my GGGG grandparents. I don't like to make connections without conclusive evidence, which I requested just this morning from that relative. However, in the search I did discover that they were married; his headstone being incorrectly transcribed Matthewes to match his surname Matthews, which is why I made the request. I have this situation at least twice in my family, and the stones are located side-by-side: Murphy and Murphey and Giffin and Giffen. I am sure there was a big OOPS! when someone made the error, but other relatives immediately knew and just didn't request a corrected stone be replace the error. I hope to have information on Benjamin and Sarah soon, and will add a link to her parents at that time. And of course, will take delight in adding yet again a link in my family genealogy. Thanks for the inquiry - I love hearing from fellow Find A Grave travelers who make the effort to establish links and information when they can. Tricia
