RE: Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Randolph/Calhoun Co. GA Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Leary was once located on St Joe Paper Co. land and was moved to its current location. Today the cemetery is cared for by Mount Pleasant Primitive Baptist and is listed as Mount Pleasant Church Cemetery on Find A Grave now. I don't know who entered the memorial that is recorded at Mt Pleasant. I don't know who created the Cemetery site. I added the pictured some time ago. Later I added the picture to the Mount Pleasant site forgetting that i had added it to Pleasant Hill. It is definitely not the same as Pleasant Hill in Randolph, County.
Leslie Eugen Pope I am glad you put it on there. Anything to help people identify with him. I didn't know who he was at first, until someone got in touch with me. I appreciate you putting it on there and sending me a copy. These old eyes are wearing out. Thanks again. Lois

Leslie Eugen Pope Hi John, I saw you had put a paper on my cousin's memorial, Leslie Eugene Pope at Riverdale Cem. I was wondering what it was. It is too small to read and I can't get it to enlarge. Thanks, Lois
Nice to hear from you. My great-great-grandfather was Emory L. Jefferson, who was the second child of Benjamin Jefferson and Harriett McGehee. When I started working on the genealogy for our family, my great-grandmother, Jessie Mae Smith Jefferson (wife of George Burke Jefferson, Sr., the sone of Emory) lent me her copy of a book called "The History of Chattahoochee Co., Georgia" which had lots of contributions from George's sisters, Annie Laurie Jefferson Porter and Emily Louise Jefferson, as well as many other members of our Georgia family. Included in those records, as well as Annie Laurie's and Emily Louise's DAR applications, was information regarding Harriett's family. Annie Laurie's and Emily Louise's DAR applications were predicated on Harriett being the daughter of Malinda Cummins and therefore the granddaughter of Alexander Cummins, who served in the Revolutionary War. Harriett is also buried in our family plot at Linwood Cemetery in Columbus with her son, Emory, and many others. Let me know if you need any other information or would like to keep in contact.
