Cemeteries are "a memorial and a record. (They are) not a mere field in which the dead are stowed away unknown; it is a touching and beautiful history, written in family burial plots, in mounded graves, in sculptured and inscribed monuments. (They tell) the story of the past, not of its institutions, or its wars, or its ideas, but of its individual lives,--of its men and women and children, and of its household. (A cemetery) is silent, but eloquent; it is common, but it is unique. We find no such history elsewhere; there are no records in all the wide world in which we can discover so much that is suggestive, so much that is pathetic and impressive." ~~ Joseph Anderson, American clergyman (1836-1916) |

|C. T. Lewis||Duplicate memorial for Mary Hagerman.|
Thanks for catching the duplication. I have deleted my later memorial.
|YellowRoseTX||RE: Graham Cemetery|
Ok, thanks. We'll see if we can find it somehow.
I am researching my Graham family. What can you tell me about the Graham Cemetery, in Lee County, Opelika, Alabama with 3 Graham family members and 3 Morrison family members listed? It appears you had set up the memorials originally in 2012. I have requested photos, but the person says she has no clue where it's at, and there are no directions given on the cemetery page. Any help in finding it would be appreciated. Thanks

This was my Uncle. You have placed the wrong date of death for Jesse as the same day Johnie Pearl died. You can see on the tombstone, it was June 14, 1969 not August 14, 1969. I was told he was in great emotional pain because she was dying of cancer.

|Marjorie F. Lee||Brinson edit suggestion|
Wow! I've never received such a prompt reply to any edit I have suggested. I was so excited to find the memorial to Stephen Sheppard Brinson, because the note about his parents confirmed that my gggggrandmother's name was was actually Stringer rather that Stinger as I had seen elsewhere.
Thank you so much.
