Bio and Links
Bio Photo i am obsessed with genealogy and family history in my old age (i have not worked or gone to school for about a year; got some software and have really thrown myself into this activity). Recently i went to Kentucky for a friend's child's wedding and got a chance to look at places where my mom's Lillard, Bright, Robinson and Berry families, and others, had lived and to find Lillard tombstones in the cemetery in Danville. Beside them i found Gentry tombstones, so i made a record of those, too, since "Gentry" is one of the names on my family tree. It has been very gratifying to search for records for the people who are related to me and to add to the information on findagrave.com. I hope the information may help others who might not otherwise have known where to find family graves or what dates of birth or death went with what family members. The help with photos is so much appreciated, although i did take some photos in pouring rain in Danville. The historical society people at the information office on Constitution Square were so very helpful to me, as was Erica at City Hall. i hope to continue to add to the body of information on findagrave. i live in Cupertino, CA, so help from KY and NC (where my father's family were) is a big deal to me! i am hoping to return to KY and hoping to also do some work in NC and MO looking for family graves there. My parents are buried in Fort Collins, CO, where i grew up, and i have added those, which gave me a good feeling. Thank you to everyone who has helped me.

One more time. I think I missed your message last month. I believe this a new feature on Find A Grave that the person also shows up in the sibling list. It throws me off every time I see it. It is correct.

Danna

Thanks for your information. I will look at my research to determine the correct information, until I have completed my research I prefer not to delete the memorial.

Thanks for you patience and your help.

Relation?
I think my relation to the Berrys could be a bit remote. My family history interests are in my main line and their sibling, which often leads into the children of the siblings, which would be expressed as first cousins any number of times removed. Although, it's easy enough to go traipsing off somewhere else to follow a story. We're only in this for the stories, you know.

Anyway, just for fun, at least on my part, here is the chain of relations that led me to remark upon the two John Robertsons. It's better clarity for your perspective to go in reverse.

Frances Grant Berry and Sally Berry would be my first cousins, six times removed. I was looking into the children to have a better perspective of my fifth great grand Aunt Mildred Allin, the daughter of Frances Grant b1716, and a sister to Ann Elenor Allen b1745.

Ann Elenor Allen, my 5th gr grandmother bore Martha Patty Howard b1771 who bore Rebecca Sarah Thorpe b1798, my 3rd gr grandmother. It has been exciting to follow the breakthrough I had with the ancestry of my 3rd gr grandmother, who married Benjamin Herndon Kelley. My mother's maiden name was Kelley. She has been a family history buff all of her life, but our line did not know of the ancestry of Rebecca Sarah Thorpe.

Computers are wonderful in that they allow so many connections! Anyway I have followed the Thorps, the Howards, the Allens, with great interest these past few weeks. I make reports to my mother, Betty Burney, age 87.

It's so helpful when we share what we know with others. It's great that you do that. My mother told me to share her old pictures and stories. It's been a great experience. Thank you for being a person who shares what you know. Your attention and care to cite your proofs is very good. Anyone who needs to, can look up the documentaton. Wonderful!

Regards,
