Looking to save not just the names and dates, but the history.
The family lines I am researching: Nagel, Brigham, Kleinfeldt, Gerber, Hiegert, Scheick and others.
How I ended up with all those veterans: The cemetery my paternal Great Grandmother is in lost her. They had it narrowed down to a section, however one day she was in the north end the next she was in the south. We spent over four hours searching. While we were there, I ran into a cat who was hanging out at one particular grave. (On the marker actually) I approached and the cat took off but stopped about twenty feet away and watched me. The grave marker that seemed to be of interest to the cat happened to belong to an Army veteran. I am not superstitious but if there was going to be a sign this would be it. So I started shooting the markers of any veterans I could find, and any obvious relatives. By the way did I mention it was Armed Forces Day?

 | Dennis Schneckloth Linked to his father as you requested. I am related to this family through the Schnekloth branch. Sophia Rusch Schnekloth, also in this cemetery, and I are both descendants of Drees Rusch, who also was an ancestor of Iowa Lt. Gov. Nicholas Rusch, who died in the Civil War and also is buried in Pine Hill.Added by Iaed on Jun 01, 2013 7:40 PM | | | Big Ern
