We hope the information we provide is of some help and value to others. We try to provide a headstone photo with each file.|
I retired after 35 years with SUPERVALU Inc. I have lived in the Jackson, Ms. area for 45 years.
My wife and I became involved with Find A Grave as a means of helping her sister Mary Ann Malone Beggs with her genealogy and Family Tree. My wife Sue Malone Smith and I have helped her by walking many cemeteries, searching for family member's graves. We would photograph the headstone and copy the information. We have occasionally helped her with research at various libraries and courthouses.
Mary Ann has done the majority of the research. She has made many trips and met many wonderful people and relatives, whom she would have never known if not for genealogy.
The family names that we are working on are Malone, Finnegan, Kirby, O'Flinn, O'Flynn, Carr, Harrington, Bergin, Sherman and Skehan. Mary Ann and Sue are the daughters of Felix John Malone Sr. (The oldest son of Frank K. and Catherine Gertrude Malone)
I am ALWAYS glad to add family links, make needed corrections, and to add appropriate bio information (if no bio has been added).
Find-A-Grave Policy on Transfers
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations; this would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not want to make the transfer.

You're very welcome.

Thanks for your response. It has been my experience here that the people who list the memorials don't have as much information as the people who take photos. I thought perhaps that you might have the genealogy on him. I can find no record of a "Carroll Dan Malone, Jr." so I believe that the memorial is for "Carroll Darwin Malone, Jr." who was buried in Floral Hills, Gulfport, MS, after his death from injuries and burns from a plane crash in Gulfport on Dec. 2, 1983. He may have been moved to Highland Cemetery, Hattiesburg, where his parents are buried, but Floral Hills has no record of his removal. I have posted your photo of his headstone on the other memorial and given you credit. If you wish for it to be removed, please let me know.

Today I attempted to fulfill a photo request for the gravesite of Carroll Darwin Malone, Jr., (1942-1983), in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport MS. The office directed me to an unmarked plot next to a headstone for Lolita Malone (no date of death). I'm confused that you have a photo of an identical headstone for Carroll D. Malone, Jr., (1942-1983) said to be buried in Highland Cemetery, Hattiesburg. The photo is posted to a memorial for a Carroll Dan Malone, Jr. There is another memorial for a Carroll Dan Malone (no Jr.) 1984-2004, with a photo posted by you of his headstone in Highland Cemetery, Hattiesburg. Is the photo you took of the headstone of Carroll D. Malone, Jr., (1942-1983) truly in Highland Cemetery? I believe it is the headstone of Carroll Darwin Malone, Jr. The obituary for Carroll Darwin Malone, Sr., states that he was preceded in death by a son, Carroll Darwin Malone, Jr., and a grandson, Carroll Dan Malone. Can you help me figure these out?

Raymond & Sue, thank you for all your contributions to the Findagrave website. I would like permission to use your photographs of my relatives' grave sites in my Family Tree files. I use the photos as source media and will gladly give you credit. Becky

Done! And you can actually request a link via the edit tab on the memorials. The owner still has to approve, but its much easier. Are you part of the '2 penny Smiths' or '4 penny Smiths' of Lincoln County?

Hi, Sue and Raymond! Do you know the relationship between Sarah Ann Chapman Arnold and Thomas Ivan Chapman? Also, if they are related, are they the children of John G. Chapman and Matilda Rials? My gggrandfather was Jonathan W. Rials, Matilda's brother. Thank you so very much for any information that you can share. Frances

Here was my reply from Sandy Mullins on the Maple Hill Cemetery records/photos and the issues surrounding the different knox infants. She apparently doesn't know where photos are but gives some leads......hope it helps.
RE: Knox Infants
Photo doubtful. Another idea is to call the Nodaway Valley Historical Museum in Clarinda The walked the cemetery decades ago and IF there was one then they would know. Try them and if no info (they have a great genealogy library) it's probably never been there. Call on Tuesday their all day work day. Also try usgen.web or org. Look for Page county page lots of get info there too. They have more info both places.
