Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am retired from a multi-national company and I enjoy history. I am a trustee of the Escambia County Historical Society and as such am charged with updating cemetery records for the county and the Alabama Historical Registry.

My interest in Find-A-Grave is purely one of preserving the history of all cemeteries in the coastal region of Alabama and Panhandle Florida for the sole purpose of getting those cemeteries on the historical registry. I am not a genealogist and make no claim to it, nor am I a professional photographer, although I do receive a certain gratification in photographing headstones and updating cemetery records, as well as helping others to locate lost relatives.

I have created a few memorials, but I do not seek numbers. With that in mind, if you see a memorial that was created by me and it holds special interest for you, I will gladly transfer it to your care but I ask that you make allowances and please do not request in bulk.

Thank you so much for adding that information. Also, do you know who is in charge of that cemetery?

One more question, I am also researching my Grandmother's paternal side (Davis' are maternal). Her father was Henry Jacob Godwin and his father was Jonathan John Godwin (b. 1836 d.1916) in Escambia County, AL. My father remembers visiting his grave at the Hanberry Cemetery as a child. We have been back several times in my lifetime and have not found it. Do you know anything about Hanberry Cemetery and if there is a list of unmarked graves? Dad said he remembered seeing a headstone but there is not one in that cemetery now. Jonathan John Godwin's parents were William M. Godwin II and Elizabeth M. Brewton.

Thank you again for your help!
