|I am an amateur genealogist and have found one of the best ways for me to collect hints on my family is to walk cemeteries. I currently live in California but many of the cemeteries I have walked are in Alabama. I take pictures of all the markers in cemeteries where I find ancestors. It is simply quicker than trying to write details down in the cemetery. If you have a Biography for one of the entries I would be happy to post it as well. I am not a typist and hopefully have not made tooooo many typos but if you see one please let me know so I can fix it|
I am not related to many of the people I have added; entries are posted in the interest of genealogy and history, and the hope that someone will add my lost ancestors.
I will no longer do mass transfers of everyone with a specific surname in a cemetery. I will continue to add cemetery surveys as time allows.
Please use the "Suggest a change" link on the edit tab of a memorial to suggest changes or request transfers.

Hi Eric, I'm hoping you can help me with this issue or possibly direct me to someone who can. I have some family members who died in Sacramento but do not appear to have memorials posted to findagrave. I live in OK so can not do any leg work on this. Where might I look to see where they are buried? I have CA death index and SS death index, but nothing with burial information. THANKS! Pat

The 14 Watson's buried at Mt. Carmel, Wicox Co., AL. Includes John Zachariah Watson (1825-1877) and his wife Sarah A. Wright Watson (1830-1904), their son and his first wife G.L. Watson (1860-1918) and Sarah Amanda Watson(1859-1918) who are my grandmother's parents & grandparents. Curious if you are one of our Watson's.
And so grateful for all your pictures!

Are you related to these Watson's?

We just wanted to make sure you were aware of the new system, since we sent you a few edits that way.
FindAGrave rolled out this new process, but has not really done anything to notify all of the contributors. It has pretty much just been put out there through word of mouth and those who follow the Forums. (I work in IT/HRIS and this would be such a "no-no" for our company. Our end users would be screaming a us.)
Thank you for putting through the ones we sent you.

Mr. Watson --
New System for Memorial Edits deployed by FindAGrave on 12/5/2013
Go to your Contributor/Profile page.
Look in the upper right corner. You should now see a tab called "Edits" - check there to see if any have been submitted to you. Then just review and accept. EZ-PZ :-)
This new process makes it much easier for doing updates to names / dates / places / plot #s.
Please note - you still will get e-mails to add info to bio section or do linking to family members.

Thank you for your contributions to FindAGrave!

Are you related to the Watsons in the Watson-Cobb cemetery? My great great grandfather was Joshua LeGrand, who was married to a Martha Watson. In the Rabbittown Cemetery there is a Henry Forney Watson. My grandmother was Anne Fornet LeGrand Macatee. Do you know anything about this family?

Thank for the reply. Do you travel to Bermuda, Conecuh County Alabama often? I assume you have a relations to the Watson in this county. Is that true? If so is Joseph Clinton, William or George Wayne Watson in the lines you research? I have some limited Watson information but Joseph Clinton Watson spouse was Lucy May Howell whose mother was Martha Caroline Kirksey and her father was was Noah Jackson Kirksey. I have a great amount of information about Noah. If this is your line let me know. I would be happy to share.

Dear Mr. Watson,
Would you be so kind as to check the DOB on your original photo. My record indicated he was born 25 Jun 1860 and you posted same day in 1862. The on-line photo is not clear enough to determine which is correct. Any assistants will be appreciated.

Actually they have created a monument with the names engraved on the granite blocks. People are asking for grave photos so I am taking a photo of the block with the name and cropping to show the name only.
I realize what a task it was to enter all of the names. As I take photos to fulfill requests I'm going to add others that are easily visible in the photos.
