Thank you so much for the correction! The memorial has been edited. :)

This cemetery is a duplicate of Wood Cemetery listed as in Tomah, Wisconsin. Some of the people in the Valley Junction memorials are also listed in the Tomah memorials.

Thank you for the correction! I'm not sure how I missed the "11-year-old mother" mistake; glad you pointed it out to me!

I searched for this marker as well and was unable to locate a marker. Other gravers have done this for me, so I always like to post a photo of where a marker should be. I have done that with Velma's memorial. I usually have a proximity photo as well. But in Velma's case, I did not take one.
None the less, I posted a photo.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for sharing your information concerning John Lincoln Maples Umback. I did a quick check on the Wisconsin Historical Society Web Site and it does indeed show record of John L. Maples' birth in Vernon County, WI on 2/28/1883. A further search of the web site lists the marriage of Sophia E Umback to Joseph F. Maples in Vernon County WI on 03/28/1880. Copies of both documents are available to order. I am sure the original birth document will list the names of Joseph F Maples and Sophia E Umback as parents of John as well as the place of birth. I believe I will order them so I will have documentation for my family tree. John Lincoln married my grandmother in 1939 after the death of her first husband. After the death of my grandmother in 1957, John Lincoln remarried his 1st wife Lillian Klein Umback Smith in 1959. Lillian is also interred at the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint, ID. Thanks again for the information. I will make the correction of John's place of birth on Find A Grave. I also now have some work to do to my tree. I guess that is why genealogy is so interesting, it is always changing and is never done. If I happen to run across anything about George Washington Maples, I will let you know.

I received your notice of correction regarding John Lincoln Umback (Find A Grave Memorial# 73748896). Thanks for your comment; however, I am hesitant to change the place of birth of John Lincoln Umback to Viola, Vernon County, WI. I realize that there is a Viola, Vernon, WI. and an Iola, Waupaca WI. The similarity of the two is a bit confusing. John's place of birth is listed as Iola, Wisconsin on his WWII draft registration card and is signed by his own hand. I used this source in my family tree and also when I created his memorial. Also, many other Family trees listed on Ancestry. Com states his birthplace as Iola, Waupaca, WI. If you have other documentation that will refute Iola as his place of birth, I will gladly change it. I do want to make sure his memorial is correct.
