Kimberly, I want to tell you about a very strange occurance at this cemetary in 1982 that has haunted me for years. As a teenager in the Great Bridge area we would always hang out on Taft Rd. Back then the old plantation house was still standing as well as some small cabins that we thought to be slave quarters. This particular night I was driving and had 3 friends with me. The cemetery was in very bad condition and it saddened me because I had read every readable stone in the graveyard several times over the years. It was dusk and I had just turned my lights on. We always turned around down the street before stopping at the cemetery. As I drove past the cemetery my lights started to flicker on and off. I threw my hands up in the air to prove to my friends I was not doing it. Then I took my foot off the gas and the car kept going and steered itself. This only lasted for maybe ten seconds and then the lights were back on and the car crawled to a stop. I was screaming and my friends were in shock. We had to turn around to leave and I was afraid to drive past the cemetery but had no choice. I drove very quickly past it and it did not happen again. I have gone back many times since and have had no occurances. This was absolutely for real and very scary! Hi Kimberly, I need some help, was this cemetery referred in days past as the Old Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Norfolk County ? I have a link for the Virginia Halsteads and many are showing buried there but I see no memorials at either this cemetery for Halsteads except two I placed there a few months back and none at the Pleasant Grove in VA Beach. Can you assist me with this. I would greatly appreciate any enlightenment you can give me. Are you close by that you could see if there are Halsteads? Thanks Kindly Jerry Hughes
Here is link and you can do a find for that cemetery and see the multiple folks showing buried there. None have memorials for most part that I can find.
