Bio Photo Brainerd, Brainard and Braynard are 99% interchangeable, though our immigrant ancestor's (Daniel Brainerd 1641-1715) grave marker is spelled Brainerd. See memorial # 47491853. My line through William has always spelled it Brainerd.

I got it from cemetery records. I just went and looked at his card and it said “Record taken from tombstone” and then his name and the info about when he died and which plot he was buried in. Unfortunately there was nothing else. I see that I did put his death date down as his birth date, which I have corrected.

Thanks for your interest. The stone is almost certainly there, but it is buried. There are only three stones showing at this cemetery, but the others are either broken or buried. There is no Stonewall Cem, this is the location of the area, not a cemetery name, the property in near Sadieville and was owned by Emisons, so all of the US gravestones issued for the brothers are marked with one of those names.

I have been studying this family for years and have an article about them here:

RE: David Brainerd
I share my work with people. That is what is so great about doing genealogy.

The information I am sharing is correct.

Genealogy is a very special audience for me. I love to share.

Even though its not my family.

I have been working the Woodhouse-Watkins Genealogy and the Brainerd family crossed my path.

And I work the names that cross my path.

PS Genealogy is my favorite Pastime.

RE: Picture for Ralph Brainerd
You are very welcome. You may want to know that he was buried with John, Mabel and Anne (I took pictures of their markers, too). I'm not sure what the relationship was, but you may know. Based on age, it looked like John and Mabel were his grandparents.

Best regards,

RE: Frank Bumford
Have you seen Frank Bumford's stone in Perry Cemetery? I've got conflicting dates for his birth. The 1920 U.S. census fits with an 1853 birth year. But, my source for the cemetery information is Nancy Dodge's "Northern New Hampshire Graveyards and Cemeteries." Her transcription of Frank's grave marker is Feb. 2, 1865 - June 3, 1935. Of course, she could have transcribed it incorrectly, or it could have been typed incorrectly in her book.

If you haven't transcribed his grave marker, what I'm going to do is leave the date as is in Find A Grave and add a note that several sources suggest his birth year was 1853. I'm going to visit that area this summer and will double check what the grave marker actually says.

Thanks for flagging this. The Bumfords married into my Lovering family in the Stewartstown area, so I'm always interested in finding additional information about them.

Frank Bumford
You recommended a change to Frank Bumford's birth date and connected him to parents. I am interested in your sources for these suggestions. Also, do you know how he is related to the other Bumfords in the Stewartstown area? Thanks.

Hi I got your message. Sorry about the edits. I forget they are there sometimes and wish Find A Grave would send a notification. Thank you for the reminder.
