I was born and raised in NYS' beautiful Hudson River Valley; so I grew up surrounded by history.|
I was about 8 when I dug up a Revolutionary War era musket ball in our garden and was awed by the stories it could have told. When my father showed me a coin from the mid 1800s he found in his local boyhood schoolyard, I was hooked on history.
My grandmother's sister lived to a lucid 106 years of age and fed my addiction for stories from the olden days.
And now I have become one of those little old ladies I used to make fun of, happily wandering around cemeteries and record halls.
Home for the last 25 years has been Otsego County in Central NYS; a place with an old abandoned cemetery around every corner.
I like nothing more than uncovering an old stone and giving them back their names and histories and families on FAG.
I try to research each person's background carefully, but if you see a mistake, let me know.
And if you see a relative and want a transfer, let me know.
Feel free to use any pictures or information I post for any reason, no need to credit me.

It was on the sharp corner on LL road, it wasn't far from the road. It was in bad shape most of the stones that were upright were from the Warren family

His name was John Fox and his daughter was Dimmis Fox Wheeler, according to Find A Grave they were buried in LL cemetery. We visited the one on Little Lakes road but it didn't look like the one in your photos.

I have an ancestor buried in the Little Lakes Cemetery and we went to visit it. It didn't look like your photo and then I noticed that your photo caption said that the Find A Grave map was wrong. Could you give directions to the cemetery that you photographed?

I linked his memorial to his father. Thanks!

Thanks! I have linked him to his parents.

No I don't see a name on her marker - you might want to try contacting the cemetery.

Thank you for your additions, corrections and the bio that you placed on his memorial. Since his headstone states that he was born on April 24th, I'll leave that the same.

I can't begin to thank you for all your efforts in New York. I find getting information in New York a real challenge. Because of your efforts I have been able to connect with direct family that I would not have found without your help. Thank you. If in your travels you find additional Cooley's please send them to me and I will connect the New York Cooley's. Thank you again.
Michelle and now Albert have discovered they are family.
