September 15, 2014 No longer traveling; catching up to messages & edits|
I no longer make changes, additions, transfers from messages left on my contributor page. Please follow FindAGrave procedures by using the Edit tab on the memorial page to request changes, additions, request transfers, etc.
Thank you for following FindAGrave procedures.
Contributor Connie posted this. I thought it was such a great idea I posted it to my page! Thanks, Connie!
Find a Grave has implemented a new way to submit Edits! Unfortunately, there are far too many members for Find a Grave to notify everyone via email, so it's up to us to get the word out. If every member posts this message (or similar) in their profile, hopefully we can help spread the word.
To suggest a correction (SAC) click on the edit tab of the memorial that needs to be corrected. Then click on the link which best describes where your edit should occur. Enter your correction, when you're done, click submit edit. Your request will be sent to the manager of the memorial and will appear in the managers' profile under the Edits tab.
Managers will no longer receive emails. They must go directly to their profile page and click on the Edits tab. Managers can approve, deny or ignore, suggested corrections. It's quick and easy!
Requesting a transfer other corrections are still handled the same way. Click on "suggest any other correction or addition," type your message and press "send this message." The manager of the memorial will receive an email.
Please ask permission before posting my personal family photographs, photographs I have taken of grave stones or biographical material I have written from my memorial pages on this site to Ancestry.com or any other website or personal webpages.
Please see FindAGrave Frequently Asked questions for more information:
How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.
Many thanks to everyone who has contributed information and photos for my memorials. I usually link to the individual contributor using HTML code. If this is unacceptable to you just let me know you prefer to remain anonymous.

|SLNP||Helen Laird Dunlop #43643750|
Is there any way you can unhook her siblings as her children?
She was the one that at first you thought was her mother since they both had the name Helen.

|SLNP||RE: Eliza M. Thomas Bradley|
The cemetery stated over the phone that they had her as Eliza Margaret.
Please verify with them as there are genealogy books that list her as Margaret McGill Thomas Bradley.
Her paternal grandparents are Col. John Daniel Thomas (1767-1849)and Eleanor McGill 1768-1822 (origin MacGill - Daughter of John MacGill and Elizabeth Duvall)
On the paternal side yes that is what I have. Her daughter marries George Dunlop son of Judge James Dunlop (Memorial# 70575957) who is the brother of Harriet Margaret Dunlop Thomas.
I had sent you some info previously for James Dunlop(Memorial# 70575957) which I don't think you had verified so didn't add.
How do prefer to have information sent to you? I think I sent it as other updates.
I understand the need to verify information out of respect for the memorial.
I would love to send more information on some of your other memorials, so I would like to know what would be best for you.

I am glad to know that you did not implement the merge. I am curious as to why it was merged when I checked it... Thanks for your response.

I am not sure how when I stated at the beginning of the obit where you have it transcribed as merely saying "died chick" that it would look much better if you replace the words " Died Chick " with Her Name was in any manner a cryptic and there is no tab other than this to suggest you changing the way you transcribed her obit

Thanks so very much for all the great info. I already use familysearch a great deal and ancestry a bit, but I need to check out those newspapers!

It's great, thanks so much. I just wonder if he's Edward Charles Jr why is father is Edward Carl. Do you think one of them is wrong? Also, where do you subscribe to all these newspapers?!

Thank you for catching that. I didn't think I was that bad!! The NGL file showed her dates as I added them (I should of noticed that then). I updated her birth year based on SSDI and also linked her spouse. Thanks again! Cindy

|CMJ47||RE: Casey, Michael and Jane|
Sorry that I didn't see your message earlier. Michael Joseph Casey's obit notice was in the Seattle Times 15 Sept 1952 p.22. Jane's was in the Catholic Northwest Progress 26 Oct 1962, p.11. I have other information confirming their identities if you need it. Neither one customarily used their official given names which created quite a bit of confusion in records. Best, Cheryl
