Bio and Links
Bio Photo If I have prepared a memorial for your immediate family member and you would like it transferred to you, please use the Suggest a Correction link located by clicking the Edit tab in the upper right hand corner of each memorial. In your message, please state your relationship to the deceased. I will consider distant family members, friends and totally unrelated people if you have something to contribute which I have not done already.

Also, if you find any errors I have made, please use the Suggest a Correction link. I appreciate people helping me fix my errors. Also please send any additional information you have (including Family Links) and I will add it to the memorial. Find A Grave gives 30 days to make changes, but I try to get it done quicker than that. If you don't hear back from me within 3 weeks, please feel free to ask again.

Thanks to all who flower any of the memorials which I created, but especially my parents.

I love Find A Grave and I especially enjoy adding photos to memorials so that family members can visit their family member's graves at anytime. However, I ask that you respect my efforts. Please, do NOT copy my photos to ancestry.com without giving me credit. Simply indicate 2006-2014 J.Sullivan on Find A Grave. I'd appreciate a note letting me know you have copied them. However, do NOT post them to other Find A Grave memorials. Just let me know and I will upload them. If you want to use them for commercial purposes or to create your own web site, that is not allowed under any circumstances. However, it is okay with me for you to post my photos of your friends and families headstones on Facebook as long as you link it back to the Find A Grave memorial. Please note that other members may have different opinions on this and you should honor their wishes. It is illegal to copy a photo without the photographer's consent.

Important admin notices posted in the forums:

Per Mark, the admin:

1. Location of body unknown should be used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. You should however make every effort to locate the final disposition and update it as soon as possible.

2. See part 1. Not everyone in my direct family has been located and thus none of them are linked. I make notes in bios of those who have known locations. Such as "Son of X and Y" or "Also father of X". What I do is look for new listings and ask for updates when a generous member has finally found a missing relative.

3. No duplicates are allowed. Period.

This is Find A Grave and long-term unknown dispositions solely for the purpose of creating family links is outside the main intent of the website.

Per AJ, the admin:

Photograph the grave/gravesite "in-situ", or as it appears in that moment in time. The purpose is to show the grave as it is, be it dirty, cluttered, broken, or pristine. It is not your job to clean it, clear it, fix it, or decorate it. The graves are not yours to do as you please. Remember, one person's "good deed" just might be another person's vandalism. Go take lots of photos...but do it like an anthropologist and do not disturb the grave site.

Note for self, this is a link I might need to know how to make one day:

RE: Levi McClain
Levi was married to Adeline Wilkinson b 1832 to John N Wilinson and Mary Jane Higginbottham

Levi was born 1833 to Rev Matthew McClain and Emily Swincher

One of their daughters Nettie Frances McClain b 1867 in CA Married Benn Woodruff in 1889 in Boone Co., Ind

She had 4 children - the last was born Dec 27 1895
Nettie died Mar24 1896

Levi placed the children with friends

The last child Ray Otis Woodruff was my cousin's father - he was 40 yrs old before he knew he had siblings or anything about his birth parents.

The 2 other boys Plemmy and Glenn married but died childless. The daughter LaBertha married and adopted a girl Betty Jane Wiggam - they lived in Ohio

I have been trying to connect this family for my cousin - her dad has been gone a long time now

I have Nettie being buried in Zionsville but never found Benn Woodruff

That's about all the information I have

I can't see the marker - can you blow it up?
I wanted to see if his death date is on the stone and I'm not sure which stone is his?
Thank you

RE: James Gaither Bryant
Mrs. Sullivan,
Thank you very much for the reply. Also, thank you for the geneolgy. I didn't know anyone past Charlie and JoAnne. I'm not sure if I've ever met you before. I've been in the Air Force for over 12 years now. Did you go to Martha or Walter's funerals? I was at Walter's. I was in Italy when Martha passed away and I didn't make it home in time. I was sitting in Chicago during her funeral. If you saw my great aunt Willodene, you must have went to my great uncle Wendell's funeral as well. I'm part of the huge Hadley family in Adair County, on my mother's side. Thank you and take care.

Mount Jackson Cemetery in Indianapolis
Do you know someone I can contact that will give me more info on someone buried there. The Gates, especially John Gates died 1911. I believe he is family and is John Wesley Gates who was originally from Parke County, Indiana. I know the record keeper of the cemetery should have full burial date and perhaps date of birth and next of kin. Your help if any is appreciated.

James Gaither Bryant
J. Sullivan,
I'm looking for some information. I'm fairly certain I'm related to James Gaither Bryant. My great grandmother was Martha Bryant, no middle name. She was born in Adair County on May 16th, 1914 and lived there her entire life. She married Walter Alphonse Hadley in her late teens. Her father's name was Charlie Bryant and her mother was Joanne Bryant. I remember visiting the Loy Cemetery as a kid because we have family buried there. I'm just curious if you have ever heard of Martha, Charlie or Joanne Bryant and if you knew my relation to James Gaither Bryant, if any? Please feel free to email me at william.mullins83@ymail.com. Thank you
