I am a professional photographer and genealogist (over 50 years), and long time historian of Coleman County, Texas (over 40 years). Over 20 years ago, I, along with my wife, Judia, and Vena Bob Gates, published all of the marked grave inscriptions in Coleman County, Texas in the 3 volume, "Coleman County Cemetery Inscriptions." I also have these records online at www.colemanhistory.com.|
Judia and I both continue to visit cemeteries, but I do all the computer work. Judia is an artist and does not relate to computers ... she is soooo lucky!
I have welcomed FindAGrave to help carry on what myself, my wife and others are doing to keep local history information available and not forgotten. I began in the middle of March 2011 adding burials that have not been added for Coleman County.
I look forward to hearing from anyone interested in the cemeteries and history of Coleman County. Ralph Terry, Coleman, Texas.

John and Mary Ann Calhoun: I photo graphed these graves today and they are in Willis Cemetery, Mount CArmel, Wolfe Ln with 219+ graves. The map for 'your Wills Cem' is the location but there are not 2 cemeteries. Your 11 grave cem does not exist. Can we combine these into the Mt. Carmel location? Val

Ralph, Thank you so much for helping others through your work with Find A Grave. It means so much to people like me, who, because of age and health can no longer visit cemeteries. I started my genealogy journey in the 1980's and am still working hard trying to get all of my extended family on my family files and verified so that MY descendants and others can see their heritage.
I hope you won't mind my making copies of your photos or my families for my family files. God bless you as you continue to help others.

Thanks for your help.

Leave as you have them. They are relatives of my husband's mother as her mother was a Douglas. I was trying to delete my declined memorials. Sorry. If you have any info on this person or other Douglas family; please let me know as I have quite a bit of the family info. Nice working with you. Thanks.

Thank you for your excellent work recording the cemeteries in Coleman County. My uncle, Chester A. Hockett, used to correspond with you many years ago and shared his history of the Jordan Ranch. I am very confused about your record #100949217 for Martha Maranza Owen Knight. You list the date of death for William Knight as 1928. Did you find a grave for him? I am desperately trying to find a death record for William C. Knight. Family tradition has him dying before his wife. Thank you if you can shed some light on where the death date for William Knight came from on his wife's Find A Grave site.

Do you have access to other pictures of Lulu and Arthur Whittington? Lulu was a Worthy Matron at Mart Chapter No. 109, Order of the Eastern Star in 1907-1908. She would have been 33 yrs old. We would like to have a picture of her.
