Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been an active member of findagrave a lot longer than this bio reflects. I am no novice. I first joined under a nickname some years ago. Because of health reasons, I had to leave for a while, but I'm back.
I love taking cemetery pictures. I try to present them as I actually see them in the cemetery. I don't "fix" them. #1 because they should look natural and #2 because I'm probably not talented enough. I do try to clean the markers up (if possible) before I take the picture. If you see a stone for your family member that needs repair, please contact the cemetery and make a request, most will gladly fix it at no charge.
I've been an avid genealogist with over 40 years experience and would love to hear from you.

In the event you are no longer able to care for your memorials, please think of transfering them to someone who has been on FAG for some time so you know they will be well managed. Unfortunately, there are so many memorials on FAG without managers due to many reasons. Maybe a fallen graver, or the creator/manager may no longer have time or has health issues, all memorials need someone available to add information or transfer. It is so frustrating to try and contact a memorial manager and there is no response.

All transfers must be requested through the edit button on the memorial and I follow the Findagrave guidelines. There are few exceptions. Don't jump on Findagrave and try to start collecting your relatives, I will turn you down "flat" until you are an established contributor. Contributor means just that, you must be contributing. I'm sorry, I've had a number of bad experiences.

Happy Hunting,

I'm sorry, I've had to remove my email address as someone is using it in an abusive way.

RE: Gene McCollum # 86285808
That confirms my suspicions. There was a period of about 2 weeks that I was not receiving confirmation emails. That made me suspicious that the "owner" was not receiving the request either. Since you did not receive either submission, obviously something was wrong with the system. This week, the system started sending confirmations again. So I will have to go back and re-submit those edits that were done in that 2-week period. Thanks for following up and letting me know.

Long family, etal
Thank you for adding the information on Uncle Warren. I really appreciate it.

The main reason I haven't done a biography, Sondra, is privacy. It's like you were saying about information on the internet. As far as the photos are concerned, my cousins like seeing the photos on the memorials. In fact, the one of G-Grandfather Bergstrom was obtained for me by a friend who does geneology. Up until then I had no idea what he looked like. I had never seen a photo of him, and of course, had never met him. I only do memorials for my Dad's family and ancestors, and, of course, my Mother's memorial. My cousin, Phyllis, does the memorials for the rest of the Long family. Besides, remember, you didn't have any information on Uncle Warren until I gave it to you! I'm just teasing you so don't get angry. Anyway, I've been doing memorials since about 2005. The only time I add something to someone else's page that I'm not related to is if I know that person and I have a photo or information that I think should be added. Anyway, if you could see your way to transferring management, I would be grateful. If not, I'll just have to live with your decision. Life's too short.

Take care and may God bless.

RE: Warren G. Long
Sorry, Sondra. I said North Carolina, which is true as far as my GGG-Grandmother is concerned. However, I would imagine there are relatives in South Carolina, also. I don't know of any direct ancestors who were from there though.

Sorry for the mixup.

RE: Warren G. Long
No. I know my g-grandfather, Napoleon B. Long was born in Knoxvill, TN, and had a business in Boone County, Ark. My Long's were related to the Atchley's of Tennessee. This is not to say there weren't any Long's in N. Carolina. They're all over the south. I do know that my GGG-Grandmother was full Cherokee and was born somewhere around N. Carolina. She married an Atchley and their daughter, Mahala, married Maples Long. That's where my mother's line comes in. My mother was born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma. Like I said, all over the south!

Have a great weekend.

Warren G. Long
I thought you'd like to know that there are Find-A-Grave memorials for Warren's sister, Della and for his parents, Nellie and Alvarado Long.

Thanks again for taking the time to address my concerns. This is the first time I've had a problem transferring a memorial to me.

June DeGrush Long
Would you also please assign maintenance of Grave Memorial #83449778 to me? June Long was my aunt, and I would like to add information to her memorial.

Thank you again,
