Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on genealogy for about 25 years. I just found out about Find A Grave a few months ago. What a handy tool this is. I enjoy going around to different cemeteries looking at all the old headstones, and taking pictures for people who might not every see the headstonesof there ancestors if someone didn't take pictures for them.

If anyone finds an error, please let me know and I will correct it. Also anyone who would like to add something, I can also do that for you.

For over 15 years I have been seriously researching my Gibbons family, with a beginning origin in South Carolina (Joseph Franklin Gibbons 1839 and still searching for information prior to that), also researching the Paris family (Rhoda Catherine Paris) from Spartanburg, South Carolina and the Giles families from that area.

From there the search has taken me into Harlan and Bell Counties in Kentucky, and surrounding counties in VA & TN, later on to Rockcastle and Lincoln Counties in KY also. In KY families that connect with our Gibbons are: Fee's, Green, Burkhart, Hensley, Wynn, Wilson and more.

My grandfather Andrew Jackson Gibbons was born in SC, was raised and married Margaret Fee in Harlan County KY. They raised their family in Lee Co. VA. Andrew Jackson Gibbons brothers are, James Giles, John Giles, Spurgeon Gibbons, Willie Gibbons, Campbell Gibbons, Frank Gibbons II and Nathan Gibbons. No known sisters.

If anyone has information of any of these families I would be very appreciative of anything you are willing to share.

I am also working on a register for Rose Hill Cemetery in Robinson, Kansas.

WORKMAN, Linda Gail Mem #164094687
Hi Vernon,

"Thank you" for all the work you do as a Find-A-Grave contributor.

I'm from the Harts, Lincoln/Logan/Wayne Co., WV, area. The address is Harts, WV, but covers areas in Lincoln Co.,WV, (where the post office is located) and adjoining areas which are in Logan Co., WV, and Wayne Co., WV).

As for the cemetery locations - Wellll, that can get complicated!! A death certificate/obituary will show the cemetery name but not always show the COUNTY location! .. and that's part of the COMPLICATION! We have many small family cemeteries located on the hillside and/or ridges of Lincoln/Wayne/Logan Counties and, if one doesn't know the exact location of WHICH hillside/ridge, it's easy to post to the wrong cemetery.

As I know many of the Workman family members in the Harts, Lincoln/Wayne/Logan Counties, WV, area, I'm familiar with the location of many of the cemeteries, especially the older ones.

As for Linda's memorial, I think it should probably be posted to the
Workman Family Cemetery at Mouth of Spring Branch, Harts, WV, (this is the way it is listed on Find A Grave). This Cemetery is located on what we know as BIG Harts Creek, Lincoln/Logan County, WV, area and is the location of Linda's father-in-law's grave-site.

I'll be going to the Queen's Ridge Cemetery in 2 to 3 weeks and, on the way, will be passing the small, very old Workman Cemetery (located on a road leading off the LITTLE Harts Creek road, the Cemetery being located near the Lincoln/Wayne County line) to which you currently have her memorial posted and will stop and check all the names.

If my note has offended you in any way, my sincere apology .. along with 3 or 4 other contributors from this area, who are also familiar with these areas, we try to help other who are less familiar with the area and cemetery locations.

Again, my sincere appreciation for all you do as a contributor .. Della

Paul Arthur Dunbar
Dear Mr. Gibbons, Thank you for your speedy memorial but I am saddened to know Mr. Dunbar has passed away. He did his YDNA test and my male Dunbar matched to him today. My daughter lives in Seward and works in Lincoln, NE and I was going to try and visit him when I come to Seward in two weeks. We would be 4th cousins but his test has given my Dunbar genealogy a big boost. Martha Dunbar Reinhart

Melvin Dozer duplicate
Your memorial #54066080 Melvin Dozer is a duplicate with memorial #110271545 Melvin Dozier which is the correct spelling for the last name. Your memorial has all the bio information, the other has the dates. Could they be combined? Thank You, nenab #47801019

Thank you so much. I used to take care of Peachie while she was in the home and Martha was very close to her mother.

RE: Albert Gochenouer fag 146667653
Thanks Vernon for getting back to me. I found out the Lottie Gochenouer I am looking for was born in Pickaway Co Ohio in 1902. Her parents were James Gochenouer m Florence Heise. She had two sisters, Leena d 2000 and Mable b 1913. This is all I have learned so far with the exception in 1910 Lottie was listed as nine years old in Jackson Co Ohio and in 1920 listed in the household of James W. Gochenouer. I will have to do some more detective work. Thanks again for catching up to me.
I will, however, keep this other Gertrude Gochenouer and Albert in mind in the event this linage connects somewhere.

Albert Gochenouer fag 146667653
Do you have time to take a photo of Albert headstone for me? I am trying to track his family line and need to see if their is a birth year on the stone. Also, a Gertrude A. "Lottie" Gochenouer is a cousin somewhere in my Gochenouer tree and I am trying to connect her to her family. Her Find A Grave is 54522048 and she is buried in Florida along with a Albert P. "Red" Gochenouer Find A Grave 54522047. In looking at their Find A Grave pages it appears they may of been brother and sister.
Could it be that Albert Find A Grave 146667653 is their father? My Gochenouer line is from Elizabeth Gochenouer m James "Burley" Beavers and they were also from Iowa, Decatur Co. I believe Albert is somewhere in this tree and having his birth year will help me search family records. Anything you can do would be appreciated. Thanks Georgie Ann
