Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy since 1983 and full time since 2004. I do enjoy taking trips for genealogy and walking around cemeteries looking for family even as far away as Auckland, New Zealand. So much can be learned just from grave photos.

Find A Grave has really been helpful in locating some of the graves. You may copy photos and genealogy information for your family research ...all I ask is that you remember where you got them in case someone needs a source.

RE: John Stanley
Please click on the photos to enlarge them and reveal explanatory captions. there is only one stone. Emily's name is not visible in the photo, but it is just above the ground line beneath John's. The stone has sunk, but all of the text is visible and transcribed in the caption.

Only the front and left side panels of the monument are inscribed.

I just posted grave photos for Margaret and Thomas Taylor. They share a plot with Ralph and Dorothy Taylor, and they are a few plots away from Earl and Florence Taylor. All have memorials, so you can request any photos you'd like. You can click on "Find all Taylors in Memory Gardens Cemetery" to see about 20 more.

RE: stanley graves
We have many cemeteries in NYC, Woodlawn & Green-Wood are just two large non-sectarian cemeteries. Calvary Cemetery (Catholic) in Queens is home to many immigrants. In the early 20th century, people would not travel too far from where they lived to be buried. You need to get your hands on the death cert to narrow the field.

RE: simon stanley
This Simon Stanley is NOT at Woodlawn. He died in Kings county so he is probably in a Brooklyn cemetery.

RE: simon stanley
Regarding Simon Stanley and Mary Stanley:

Woodlawn has no Simon Stanley and only 3 Mary Stanleys. None of the Mary Stanleys appear to fit.

I checked which has a free listing of NYC deaths up to 1948 and there is only one Simon Stanley who died inside NYC:
He was age 42, DOD 10 June 1901, Kings (Brooklyn) County. If that is not your Simon, your Simon died elsewhere.

RE: stanley graves
In B plot, range 11, grave 5 are ONLY the 3 children:
Gladys, DOD 2 Jan 1894
Violet, DOD 10 Nov 1896
Henry G., DOD 27 Sept 1903.

In A plot, range 172, grave 57 there are the 2 adult parents:
Sophia, DOD 2 Feb 1905
James, DOD 19 July 1920

These 2 plots are about 2 city blocks in distance from each other. You can theoretically, not actually because there is no stone, see the location of one from the other.

In A plot, range 225, grave 28 are 2 adults:
George Stanley, DOD 4 April 1915
Catherine Stanley, DOD, 7 Jan 1952.

Hope this answers all your questions.

I located both graves for you; both are unmarked. Two additional children were interred in Gladys Stanley's plot: Violet Stanley, 8 days & Henry Stanley, 3 months. Hope that helps your research.

RE: William Alexander Graham
I alway post the images for the requests I have claimed first; I post the images for others in the lot as time allows. That may take a few weeks to happen.

RE: Sarah Steele Farrar
Hello Janelle - sorry but I am not related. Do you know where she died? I don't see her death record in NYC databases. Best, Cara
