Bio and Links
Bio Photo Calvin & I enjoy going to and taking cemetery pictures. We started doing this when we began researching our family trees. Calvin's family names are Adams, Butlers, Daniels, Brewer from the Middle TN & Upper Alabama. My family names are Whittemore (my father's name), Roberts, Johns, Morton, Manier mostly from the Rutherford, Wilson & Sumner Co., TN area. We're glad to help find your families headstones whenever the weather & health permits.

If you have a photo request from Polk Memorial Gardens in Maury Co., TN we'd like to ask that you call the cemetery & ask them for the section & plot number. There are nearly 10,000 persons buried there & with flat headstones it's nearly impossible to find individuals.

First, thanks for the photo of the grave marker for Sina Ellen Morrow Murphy.

I'd very much like your ok to use that photo (and any others you may/have post/ed for my kin) for my personal use, including posting on my tree.

I will, of course, give you the credit you deserve; thank God for those of you who do this!

Thank you in advance for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

RE: Ewing & Sadie Henderson Whittemore
Hi Marilyn - The photo is of Sadie and Ewing and you may use it in your Ancestry tree. This picture was in the collection of Barbara Lorene Henderson Edney, sister to Sadie Henderson Whittemore. My wife, Jean Edney Johnson, is a daughter of Barbara. Thank you for your interest in these families.

RE: Edward Landsdowne
I see what you are talking about now. I missed his name at the bottom picture. This is a very large, very old, family owned cemetery with not the best records. The trustees only go there occasionally. I fell in love with this cemetery last summer when I was searching for graves for Find A Grave. I discovered that so many of the people buried are not listed anywhere but on their headstones. Of the graves that were listed, many were not in the correct blocks. I would look for a grave in block b and could not find the grave. Later, I would see that grave in block p and so forth. I started photographing the whole cemetery block by block. I have photographed and entered over 1/2 of the cemetery in Find A Grave since last fall. Edward drew my attention when I was photographing in block P and I found a grave for Edward L Lansdown who died in 1895. I discovered your Edward Landsdowne when I was looking for my Edward. Sorry for the confusion. When I checked the Maury County Cemetery index, all three of your Landsdownes are all listed in Block L. I have only completed a small portion of block L, but it is quite possible that there is only one stone for all three. This is quite common here.
