I began tracing the SWEANY genealogy when I was 18 years old at the request of my grandfather, Clark Deputy SWEANY. It is a true passion of mine. It is the legacy I'll leave to my SWEANY family. Major family names: SWEANY (and spelling variations thereof), DEPUTY, RUDDICK, LEWIS, ARBUCKLE, BARNES, HUGHES and MONROE. Member: National Genealogical Society, Indiana Genealogical Society, Indiana County History Preservation Society, Riley County Kansas Genealogical Society. |
I've always enjoyed cemeteries. My little Maltese, Cody, and I frequent not only Tennessee cemeteries where we live but southern Indiana cemeteries also as my family currently lives there/all my family lines are from there and we visit at least once a month. If I can help with any pictures, please do a photo request and ask that it be assigned to me-that way I'll receive an email and won't miss your request.
From fellow Find-A-Gravers, Corey & Douglas Marshall-Steele, who were so kind as to take a photo for me, I use the message from their profile: "I am always happy to transfer memorials to the family to which they belong. The Golden Rule trumps the guidelines, and hoarding is just stingy and small." That pretty much says it all.
I wish you success in your searches and if I can help in any way, just ask!

Wonderful work on my maternal Seaney family, thank you. I wondered if the Death location of Leander was actually in Illinois and not Indiana? Was this a typo do you think?

Where Is the Barnes Cemetary Located in Jefferson county ? The Sara Law Barnes is my wifes fifth Great Grandfathers Sister.
Hi, do you think all of the burials are listed? I have a Rev. Joshua McQueen who died in 1881. It is assumed he is there.

We took the census of this cemetery in 1978. It is not in Charlestown.
Staples Cemetery is on the former Barnes Farm but the 2012 Tornado made a mess out of it.
The location is East of Nabb, Clark County, Indiana and is located on private property. Approximately 1 mile south of highway 362, near Barnes Cemetery.
I don't care you have put the info on here, but will you please correct the location?
Jeannie Noe Carlisle

I see that you took the cover photo for the Liberty Hawpatch cemetery in Bartholomew County Indiana. Last summer, I went there from Indianapolis to walk around trying to get photo requests, and the gates are padlocked shut. Do you know who you see to gain access to it? I drove to the nearby town and no one seemed to know.

Did you create the cemetery? If so, do you know where it is?
|Diana||Photo Request for Stanfield|
Hi! I was not able to find Cynthia Stanfield in that cemetery. I did find William, but she wasn't listed on the stone. As her D/C just states Bunceton , it's possible she may have been buried in the other cemetery in Bunceton.
Sh's not listed there, but there are about 300 people listed in that cemetery, though I don't think there are many stones there and I won't be going back that way. It's quite a long drive for me. Just a possibility though. I took photos of all the stones at the Masonic cemetery. Though, it's also possible, since she outlived William by so much, that there was no one to have the stone engraved with her name. So she still could be buried with William.

could you please transfer memorials 73731307 and 73731250 to me. These are my direct grandparents (not uncle or aunt) but my direct grandparents. I tried to contact you by email many years ago but I never heard from you.

I see where you made the entries for the Staples Cemetery. Did you also create the cemetery? My reason for asking is that you have it in Charlestown, but it is in Washington Township. I am trying to locate this cemetery to take some photographs....so if you know where it is, pls let me know.
