I send out 50 corrections a day so if you email me, please remind me which memorial we are talking about.|
A duplicate is the copy. Even if it has more information, or if it's your relative, or if it has a photo.
The one in the correct cemetery wins no matter how old it is.
If you don't get it, you are on the wrong site.
TRANSFER REQUESTS posted here on my wall will be ignored. Use the 'edit' tab.
TRANSFER REQUESTS from people who have duplicates will be ignored. Clean up your mess.
TRANSFER REQUESTS from people with several "burial unknown" memorials that are not cremains will be ignored. Put things where they belong.
LINKS to "burial unknown" that are not cremains will be ignored. This isn't your scrap book.
Some free sites I find helpful:
CA birth index 1905-1995
CA death index 1905-1939
CA death index 1940-1997
CA, San Mateo County cemetery bookwaypoints
Census and other indexes
MO death certificates 1910-1962
San Francisco Mortuary index
On 4 APR 2013 I was blessed to receive hundreds of abandoned memorials in Sonoma County, CA to work on.
On 28 JUL 2013 I was blessed again and received almost 45,000 more abandoned memorials to work on. This time in the Italian Cemetery in Colma, CA.
On that day, my total went up to 49,973. So you can see I'm making a little progress. Just getting the hundreds of duplicates deleted really dropped those numbers.
If you have a headstone photo for a memorial that doesn't already have one, please stick it on there. I love the headstone photos.
If you have any additional info to assist me in updating them, please send it my way.
Accidents happen. If you see something I need to fix or add to any of my memorials, please let me know.
I want to thank all the photographers out there getting headstone photos on memorials so the rest of us can sit on the couch and 'visit' our relatives. You may never know just how grateful we are.
What makes me smile?
*Seeing a duplicate disappear.
*Seeing a duplicate maker disappear.
*Memorials that have men with maiden names.
What makes me laugh out loud?
*Getting a transfer request sent to my email with no memorial number, no last name, and no member number.
ha ha It made me laugh again just telling you about it.

Sure, that would be great! I am new to Find A Grave, but I'm assuming that transferring Annunziata Basso's memorial to me means I am it's "keeper"?
|Pat R||RE: Bertiglia|
You're so funny. Really. Since I have to take transfers as sets, next time I'll check how may of a last name there is before I ask for them!!
Take care, Pat

I could not find a duplicate either. I do not delete if I am not sent the original memorial #.
You are forgiven. Thanks for all your work that you do at the Italian Cemetery... Michael

Samantha, I will be glad to delete this memorial if you would supply me with the original memorial # in your SAC. Thanks... Michael
Thanks for the transfer! I appreciate your kindness. As far as I know now, that is the only one I need.

LOL - I've been working on a project with a group to see how many unknown last names we can eliminate and I have focused on California. After the site went down I pulled up the list and selected "last 7 days" and started there. Just lucky timing because I've been working on this for 3 weeks. They are difficult to search unless you know the trick but there were over 76K in the system and we knocked it down by 11k in 3 weeks. Lots of us working together. Now I just check on the ones in CA. Many are so easy to resolve, like yours, men with last names in maiden name field. Thanks for fixing so fast. Have fun.
