I don't link to "Burial Unknown". This isn't your note folder. If you want me to put the names of the parents or spouse in the bio section, send me the name in a suggestion.
Before you send me an 'edit' to link to a spouse, take a moment to see if YOU have the memorial for the spouse. If so . . . why are you sending me that 'edit'? Just link them.
If you discover someone has transferred a duplicate to you, I can get that taken care of if you transfer that duplicate to me.
I don't, knowingly, put the names of living people on memorials. If you see something I missed, please let me know so I can delete it. If you are composing an email to me with all the names of the living descendants you want me to put in the bio of a memorial, including your own name, save us both some time . . you to write it; me to read it and delete it.
I transfer to folks who seem sincerely interested in their family & friend's memorial.
I like to look up additional info. for other people's memorials. More folks should hop off the 'flower' button and hop on a death index or the census, and send some 'edit's, to actually improve more memorials on the site.
On July 28th, 2013 I was blessed to receive almost 45,000 abandoned memorials to work on in Italian Cemetery in Colma, CA. I worked on them nearly every day for 3 years and found homes for a large portion of them. On August 8th, 2016 I transferred the remaining 26,911 memorials to the Find A Grave account. I will continue to work on them, just at a slower pace.
I want to thank all the photographers out there getting headstone photos on memorials so the rest of us can sit on the couch and 'visit' our relatives. You may never know just how grateful we are.
OH WHAT TO DO WITH ALL THOSE LAST NAMES OF A DISCIPLE OF ELIZABETH TAYLOR - You want to acknowledge all the marriages, but you don't want a crappy looking memorial with 6 last names crammed into the maiden and/or last name space. Find A Grave suggests; The 'last name' is the name that is on the headstone. Include other married names as part of the biography section. The 'maiden name' space is only for her maiden name.
If you would like to search the cemetery cards in Italian Cemetery, this is the web address;
I live in Corvallis and have ties to the Islamic community through my teaching their children in the past and friendships over many years.
I respect my Islamic friends for their sense of privacy and their own customs surrounding death and burial. I can speak to my friends but I wanted to know if this is a random request or if you are related to, or know, the family. They do not mark their graves, I am told, and wonder if they would approve the inclusion of any photos.
I am more than willing to do this; however, I will need to act, or not, within appropriate boundaries. Very interesting!
Transfer of Julius Janetsky Thank you for the FG transfer of Julius Janetsky. For a long time I have been researching survivors of the Troopship "Tuscania" in which my Grandfather was one such survivor.
Thanks Hi Samanth, I live in Douglas County Oregon and most of my relatives on my maternal side are interred in Douglas County and Lane County graveyards. Thanks for trasferring Edith Chaney. RE: Vera Fredrick Hello Samantha - thank you for the information regarding the grave of Vera Fredrick. Would you be so kind as to Transfer Management to me Adele (#47556211)and I will update her. Also thanks for requesting a photo, much appreciated.
RE: Grace Family records do not list Grace's maiden name so the information on her son John W Odger's funeral record is greatly appreciated. I have seen it elsewhere as possibly Grace Krase or Crase. It will be interesting to research the name Whitteberry.
Clara's (John W Odger's wife) maiden name is Hall The first names of their parents are listed on their 5 September 1878 Wisconsin marriage record
Mother of John W Odgers The funeral records of John W Odgers memorial # 81876867 are handwritten and difficult to read. Could his mother's first name be Grace?
Grace Odgers and her husband John Odgers immigrated from Cornwall England in 1843 She died 5 September 1897 in Iowa, Wisconsin. The family history states the same information for their son John W Odgers as found on this find a grave memorial.
Thank you for all of your great work! You are maintaining the memorials for my great-great grandparents, Luigi (Louis) Orlando #44409922 and Filomena Florence Carlo Orlando #44409916. I maintain the memorials for some of their children and grand children and I would like maintain theirs as well. Would you please transfer the management of their memorials to me?
David Edward Deeds Thanks, Samantha, for your quick reply. Is there any way to put me in contact with the person who provided you the information? I'm leaving out tht info for privacy sake. Thanks again. Linnea
