Most of the memorials I manage are in Rest-Haven Memorial Park. The cemetery has about 17,000 graves with just over 14,580 of them on Find-A-Grave. Rest-Haven has a mausoleum in addition to the cemetery. This cemetery has no upright gravestones, only flat ground level grave marker. The cemetery does not require that a grave be marked, so many graves have no markers.|
I will be happy to make additions or corrections to the memorials I manage. If you have a correction, extra information or want a transfer please use the EDIT TAB on that individual's memorial. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE A "Public Message" WHEN ASKING FOR EDITS OR TRANSFERS.
I enjoy genealogical research and spend time enhancing memorials as time permits. My primary task is adding new memorials to help people find their family and friends.

Okay. So I deleted one of the Carl Buchmeier entries. But why do I need to delete the entry when I have a photo of the marker listing Carl and his birth and death dates on a marker with three other family members at Bethania?

I guess I don't know what more you need to know so that it's not just "opinions", but fits the letter of the Find A Grave policy. I think if the R-G is ok with it, we should be too.
From the policy:
"Do not copy obituary notices from newspapers ... to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so "
I.E. We have permission, and Find A Grave will only respond if there is a complaint from a copyright holder. No problem exists.
Thank you! Most interesting..... I still sm working on transcribing existing ones into bio section but its going to take awhile. I appreciate you thinking of me. Jan

I did some looking into this several years ago when I started this hobby and I found out several things:
1) Eugene Register-Guard, and other digitized (microfiche) papers have relinquished copyright to private/derivative use of their work. Effectively, they are in the public domain.
2) Findagrave only disallows obits if you do not have permission. Since I only obtain papers from the public record, we have implicit permission to post.
3) Findagrave will remove contentious obits on their own and will not ban if you cease-and-desist.
Hope that helps, as I had the same concerns.
Recently you requested that I pull down obits from 'your' memorials. While I respect your decision not to post them yourself, I will not remove obits that are already posted. Most families I deal with are happy to have original obits for their own research. If anyone has a problem with an obit that I have posted, please have them contact me & I will remove it.

Hello - a while ago you had sent me information to update the memorial. As I'm trying to transfer away all non-relative memorials, I figured since you had sent an update, you would be interested. If not, and if you really don't want the memorial, feel free to transfer it back and I'll hold it until I can find someone else to take it. Thanks.

I have a copy now.
Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for posting Clemens Koffler obit.
|Laura Sireci Roman||Minney Memorials|
Please let me know if you would like for me to transfer the Minney family memorials to you. I have no affiliation to them. I just added them to the site after going out to the graveyard. I plan on going back out soon to get more pics of a bunch of different gravesites in that cemetery so I will see if I can get some photos as well.

Theresa is my Great Grandfather's half sister. I didn't know her and my Great Grandpa Irving Russell a.k.a. Jack) passed away well before I was born but that is how I came to have the picture. It was in a box of photos my Grandfather received when his mother Gladys who was Irving's wife passed away. It is so far the only picture that I have of her that wasn't found on ancestry.com
