Thanks to a lady named Annette and the photo she placed on Find A Grave, I was able to break through a brick wall in my quest to document the family tree. Since then I've placed a number of requests. I am very grateful to the folks who took pictures and filled those requests.

I pretty much limit myself to taking pictures in the San Francisco National Cemetery in the Presidio of San Francisco. It's an absolutely beautiful place with lawn that would make any gardener envious and with breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay.

If there is anything I put up on this web site that needs correcting or that you would like me to remove, please let me know. If you would like me to transfer a memorial to you, please let me know. Be sure you are logged in and then use the edit tab. With the exception of my own family's memorials, I would be happy to make the transfer.

Through Find A Grave I've been privileged to come in contact with some really wonderful people. This is a team effort and it is amazing how this database has grown. It is fun, even though it can occasionally be awkward when I tell someone I take tombstone pictures. :-) There have been many kind e-mails and public messages. While it is always nice to get a pat on the back, that is not why I do it. I do it in the hopes that what I do might help others as much as the work of others has helped me. Over the years there have been a few disagreements, very few. With an exchange of private e-mails disagreements usually get worked out. That is part of the teamwork. But I find public messages that are not polite to be uncalled for. I was raised to believe that you praise in public and criticize in private.

Wow! Thanks for putting Morton Brewer on here! I was so thrilled to find him! I am piecing together my grandmothers ancestry and it is hard to find KY boys who leave home. What a find! Thank you thank you!

Thanks for the message about the info I had on the Findagrave memorials for the two mentioned above. You were quite right on both counts and I've made the changes. Also sent you a longer email so make sure to check that as well.

Best, Barry

Yes, I had come across this a while back, but had forgotten most of it~ Wow... pretty proud! I have a picture of the "boys" about a year before Bart passed~ (Father went by Bart, son by Joe~ but both Joseph Bartholomew, given.) Some of our fun family trivia is that Bart's uncle (his father's brother) was the Bishop of Kalil in Ireland, and the very same reason the father and several brothers left Ireland~ to avoid a life of the cloth. ;) Bart's mother and father were dear friends of the "Frozen Priest" of the North and his 2 eldest sisters, became "Sisters" so I think they all received extra Catholic blessings from every angle. ;) A little prayer did both father and son well. teehee

Thanks for the link~ it was great to freshen my memory. ;)

RE: Kupbens
Thanks, Carol! I'll ask Jerry Huffman if he has an obituary on him. Jerry's access to obit. info. has helped me find more than one grave location before. All the best, JD

Thanks, Carol, they might not be there. Might the nationwide gravelocator have info that's not available online? Thanks, JD
