I started going to cemeteries in geneology searches. As I went thru the cemeteries I realized how much the stones wear down (and all the other factors - cemeteries not being kept up, vandalism, etc) and that someday you wouldn't be able to read those stones.|
I also realized what great things people were doing by taking pics, and volunteering to take pics, for people who were looking for their family and couldn't get to the area.
So...I starting taking pictures myself. Now that we have digital cameras all it costs me is my time. And the results are great...people find family they're looking for and most importantly, those that were buried in the cemetery and the stones were put up for are not forgotten.

Want to thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! Thank you so very much for the photo of my great grandparents headstone, I just saw it today, havent been on for a while, not sure when you put it on for me, but thank you, thank you, thank you!!! This cemetary is all on a large hill as you know, there is no way I could ever get up there to find it as I have a brain tumor that has taken away my balance and use a walker. You are an ANGEL, God bless you and happy holidays!💜 Sincerely, Cherri Carter Fellows

Ta for the updated info & really quick response, fastest ever!! hahaha Also many thanks for your time & effort in taking the pics then posting a memorial. By the way, not related, well maybe not related. Had a message from one of her relatives seeking info on the McClure clan of Co. Armagh in my family tree. Thought I'd volunteer the info I just found on this site as well. :-)

Sounds great, I'm interested in Lot G002, Lot owners info, of whose buried there. Abigail Crain Crandall's mother Sibble Crain in particular, could have been removed to Cortland Rural from another cemetery. She died around 1843, living in the west half of Cortlandville. Or she may be one of the stones brought to Cortland Rural. Larry
