|What a great site. I found it a few years ago while researchig family and decided to add local graves. Most entries are for Illinois cemeteries; mainly Bluff City in Elgin, but other cemeteries, too.|
If I have added a duplicate memorial, please let me know.
Most entries for deaths prior to 1995 are from grave photos. I am working to get all the photos uploaded, but this is a slow process. If there is not a photo on the memorial you are interested in, just ask (via edit/suggest a correction) and if I have a photo of that grave I will expedite the upload. Many memorials from 1995 and later are obituary based and there is a higher chance that I do not have a photo. A warning: my photography leaves something to be desired at times; if you have a better photo, please add it.
I do not include obituaries (in rare circumstances, I make exceptions), but will add excerpts; I will not include names of living persons.
I am happy to add family link and extra information into memorials. I will generally attempt to confirm the information first, though.
If you would like a transfer, please request it through the Edit-Suggest a correction tab.
Most photos include a geotag in the metadata.
This information can be mapped by uploading the photo to Jeffery's EXIF viewer at: http://regex.info/exif.cgi
Pictures may be copied for personal, non-commercial purposes (including adding to Ancestry.com, if desired); a small credit would be appreciated (but not necessary).

"Nadine Poore is named as a surviving daughter in the September 1968 Obituary for Sephronia Silkwood.:
"Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Susie Bond of East Alton and Mrs. Nadine Poore of Elgin;"
The 1930 Franklin Co., Illinois census lists Nadean age 10 as daughter in the Household of George & Sephronia Silkwood.
You have listed her maiden name as Reed on findagrave.com. Is there a record at the cemetery that gives her maiden name?

Thank you so much for the photo of Richard Paulus' headstone. It's very much appreciated.
|Mary Combs||RE: Joseph H Kipp|
Thanks, Bob! I am waiting for the obituary from the Elgin Daily News (requested it from their library archives) to see if it includes any names of children, etc... I will let you know what I find!
Thanks again for your help,

Bob, thanks for taking the time to go out, find and document this family's final resting places. Great photos! Thanks also for making the family links. Your efforts are much appreciated.

|Mary Combs||Joseph H. Kipp|
Hi, I am trying to figure out if the Joseph H. Kipp that you have entered in your Veterans, non specific war, data base is our Joseph H. Kipp. You have his marriage information, which matches with ours - but we are confused about his birth and death dates. I am wondering where you got the information for the marriage. If this is our Joseph H. Kipp he fought during the war with Mexico. Through Ancestry.com we have his registration information.
We would love to have more information as by 1870 his wife was married to someone else, and we had assumed he had died!

No worries! It was just our timing is all! I took pictures of the Sherwoods around that area in case they were not entered. I see you have entered them since I was there. Would you like for me to post the pictures I took of them? I can send you a list of the ones I post if that helps.

Bob, thanks so much for making the edits for my husband's grandmother and her family in Bluff City Cemetery. I appreciate all that you do! --Ruthie

Thanks for the information.

I had claimed a couple of photos for Bluff City with the last name of Sherwood. Because I claimed them on August 19th, I still fulfilled the request today with the photos I took. I see you posted your pictures on August 26th after I claimed the requests so perhaps you missed those request/claims. As the creator of the memorial you can decide what to do with the pictures I posted. I'm just clarifying that I did claim the photos prior to your posting and fulfilled the request today within the findagrave.com time limit. Also, I took high quality pictures as you can see.
Thank you so much for the photos of Minnie & William Schmuhl and Carolina Strubing. I greatly appreciate it. Karen
