If you have corrections or family linkages for a memorial, use FindAGrave's Edit tab. If you use an email, please include "Find A Grave" in the subject line and include the memorial number. Your ID# may be included with the update. See Rantings and Ravings below for additional comments.

I am a documentor, not a hoarder, and will happily transfer any memorial to its direct descendants.

All posted photos may be copied for personal, non-profit use by including source credits.

----- Rantings and Ravings -------
#1: FindAGrave quirks... your edit request is given to me in random order, with other requests, grouped 25 at a time. They are NOT chronological and there is no sort command to get them in FIFO order, so sorry for any delays. You will receive an automated completion response when they are processed.

#2: Accuracy. I process up to 500 edit requests per month as relatives discover and contribute to the memorials of deceased friends and family. Updates are welcome. Every request is vetted to ensure the memorial's information is as accurate as possible. Your user ID may be included as a reference, making future contact easier in the event conflicting information arises. It does happen.

#3: Supporting documentation. Attaching reference photos or documents to the memorial for family links is highly recommended. It will help your cousins build their own pedigree dossier.

#4: Edit request denials. If your edit request is declined, an explanation will be given. If you have additional information to address the issue, please provide it in a followup request.

#5: Transfers. PLEASE limit transfer requests to your direct line ancestors. Aunts and uncles do not qualify; these are the site's rules, read them and reserve these transfers for their descendants. Legitimate transfer requests will be granted unless other members have previously contributed to the same memorial, in essence making it a shared memorial.

Thank You
Dear Tom,

Thank you so very much for the photo of Daniel Steffy's headstone. The only one I had was of the headstone with some family members which was great but the photo did not provide a close-up of the headstone itself.

After years of waiting, it was like Christmas today when I opened my email and saw that someone was kind enough to take the photo.

Your volunteer work is special and much appreciated!

Thank you so much for finding Nicholas grave. We knew he was buried in St.Marys Cemetery, but we didn't know where. If you hadn't search and found out the spelling of his last name was wrong, we wouldn't have found him. It is people like you that take the time to research that helps our families. THANK YOU VERY MUCH

please feel free to use the pictures on any memorials I posted. I don't know who is by him in family plots, as I don't live near there anymore.
