My name is Ellen Allmendinger. I am an avid cemetery visitor, as well as a historical researcher.|
I have found that one of the best places to learn about people in an area is the cemeteries located within or nearby. The dates, stories, names all give clues as to what life was like in the area both in the past and the present.
I am blessed to have visited cemeteries in Yakima, other areas in Washington and Oregon state (and the Pacific Northwest), as well as Hawaii, Florida, Maryland and even recently thru out Scotland.
Every time I visit a cemetery I am amazed at the beauty of the stones and monuments, the history, the names of families and last but not least the history of the area.
I also enjoy updating Find A Grave when I have free time in order to help others learn of the area,as well as help to connect famimlies.
If you find I have entered a family member or need to revise my entries please let me know. I will be happy to transfer them to you!!!
"Cemeteries are like parks only filled with history. Stop, look around, read the names and dates. Your walking amid history. Respect it, enjoy it and learn from it. Those buried at cemeteries lived so that we can learn about the world both past and present!"
Cemeteries need to be treated with upmost respect. They are the resting places of families, friends and founders.
Simmons Cemetery: There was once a cemetery located at approximately Fruitvale Blvd. & North 6th Avenue. The bodies have been relocted to Tahoma Cemetery, but I have added it to the site for informational purposes.

|Nat ||Harriet Haye Memorial# 70312615|
I was hoping that you could try to find a birth-date or death date or picture for Harriet as she could possibly be my 3rd Generation Grandmother.
My Harriet Haye was married to Jacob Haye and they had 3 children Thomas, Hattie and Bertha and also an Allice Chamberlain was listed in an 1880 census as Jacob Hayes step-daughter.
Harriet's maiden name was Long and she was born January 1841 in Virginia.

I was copying your wonderful headstone photos of
Belonie "Ben" Menard Jr, Memorial# 32166149 and noticed his father's headstone photo is on his memorial.
His father is Belonie Joseph "Ben" Menard, Memorial# 22407096.
You have wonderful photos, and you've done so much work on all of them. I've done a few, also, so I know it can get mind boggling.
By the way, I make it a point to credit the photographer, always. Thank you.

I have sent my 4th request for additional information to be added to Wilma's memorial via Wilma's edit link. PLEASE add the information or transfer the memorial to me so that I can add the information. I have made 4 requests. Would you like to transfer the memorial, have me add the data, & then I can transfer it back to you? This is a relative of mine (and maybe yours too... you haven't told me that) but I'm just asking again that you PLEASE make the changes or transfer. Just let me know if you want it back. I don't care about owning it forever. You can have it back. Thank you, Sincerely, Judy

|Sheri Charnell||Zillah City Cemetery grave|
My name is Sheri and I have a lot of family in the Zillah City Cemetery, one of them was my grandfather's cousin; Albert C. Adams (1896-1958), I would appreciate it if you would transfer him over to me so that I may update the information on him. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
