Please send all corrections and requests for transfers using the [Edit] tab --> "Suggest a Correction" function you will find on the actual memorial page. |
** IF YOU WANT A RESPONSE TO AN INQUIRY YOU SEND ME ** I do not post on public walls so you must have at least 1 memorial you manage and I can then correspond with you privately using [Edit] on that memorial. Everyone should manage at least one memorial so people can correspond with you privately! If you wish for me to send an electronic document, then you must provide an email address on your profile page or send it in an [Edit]. Thanks. **
For transfers, please include your relationship to the person in your message and it needs to be sent through the SAC process not on the public wall.
I do transfer beyond standard FindAGrave guidelines. However, if you are new to FindAGrave, I ask that you be active for at least 6 months and be contributing new memorials. The only reason for this is because too many people abandon their memorials after an initial flurry making it very difficult for others to get corrections made. I do not want to transfer the memorial to find out later that suggested revisions are not being attended to.
Regarding gravemarker photos I have uploaded... READ the caption for that particular photo and if it states that someone else has allowed me to upload the photo then that means you must contact them for permission, not me, before you post elsewhere. Please respect the copyright held by others.
If the gravemarker photo caption does not specify anything about special copyright, then it is a photo I took and I grant you permission to use it for your personal use. I also grant permission to historical societies, churches, schools or similar nonprofits to use the images for any purpose they wish including "commercial use" in publications or other services they provide.
Please attribute the source as "From FindAGrave.com - Used with written permission from photographer."
If the photo is from a memorial card -- source notation is not needed as it is not my work.
I generally include your suggested edits for the BIO section just as you send them except for editing obvious typos or if I contact you about discrepancies with information I have. Therefore, if I miss something, please contact me again; no need to wonder if I am "one of those people" who finds it necessary to edit out information that is/was available publicly. I assume you took the time and effort to create a SAC for a reason and want this site to be useful to other researchers.
Because there is a limit of 5 free photos and you have some you would like to upload that you feel are higher quality than what I posted, please contact me as I usually will remove mine.

Thank you so much for uploading the excellent picture of Margorie Ann's headstone. I was looking at her Memorial page this fall and noticed that it did not have a picture. I posted the earlier one with the flowers in front. It was not anywhere near the quality your picture is and I appreciate so much that you posted a much better one. Had Marjorie lived, she was my husbands Aunt. We live in far western Montana and it is harder to get there. Thanks again. If I can return the favor, I live in the Missoula MT area and have just started uploading pictures and I have created only one memorial page.
Thanks, Kathi McD

Cathy... once again our paths cross as collaborators and as a result, I'm back to thank you so very much for BOTH initially creating these two Find A Grave memorials (for my maternal Great-Grandparents) AND for you kindness in transferring them over to my care. A bonus was that you took the time to remind me of our previous "conversations" and your connection to them.
I'll get busy later tonight adding life details and family links to "flesh out" what are OUR memorials. Thanks again, "PJ"

Yes the info is correct as it is first hand info. That was Edna Lenz's first husband, second one was Frank Cumber Jr. who is the father of my wife Sharon Cumber Grunert. There was more then one heated discussion as my wife nor their family were very happy at these events..LHG

I fulfilled your request for Emma - I needed to dig her out, first. I also discovered I left out a step in processing Albert's photo. I fixed that and uploaded the proper image.

I have also attached some sources to the family records on www.familysearch.org, membership to the website is free.
I also from what I believe is the location for his naturalization records on Ancestry.com.
Still adding a few things here and there. Hope this adds to your research. I became interest in this family after seeing the blog post by "The Dead Relative Collector" http://thedeadrelativecollector.blogspot.com/2015/10/mystery-photo-peter-pogatschnick.html
Have a great day.

|Stanley Nuehring||Karl Janzig|
I would appreciate - your time permitting - learning more about the writing on the gravestone of Karl Janzig, who I just learned this morning, appears to be my G2-Pa. My great-grandfather John (Lutheran minister in Guttenberg, IA for ca. 33 years at the beginning of the last century) and also pastored in MN. I shall assume it's in German, but I can't enlarge the picture provided under your guidance. I know my great-grandfather was born in what now is called Lutherstadt-Eisleben (just Eisleben back in Martin Luther's day). I need to put together a family tree re this side of my family, and anything you could share with me would be a most kind act. My email address is email@example.com. I'd be happy - if you can advise - to pay you back re documents you might have in German (my first doctorate is in that language) by translating them for you.
Thank you, Cathy, for the nice message. You are very welcome!
